I’m new today
First run today at 61 years had a hip replacement last September and an arthritic foot on left so being very cautious but felt exhilarated afterwards . The run is more like extra fast walking type jog .. really concentrated on my breathing

Cycling and walking after hip surgery
Has anyone out there had a hip replacement? I have been told I have severe arthritis in my left hip having been suffering from hip pain for the past three years and advised by the consultant to have a full hip replacement. I am a keen cyclist, going out several times a week and a walker too having covered

Done it!
The plan took 13 weeks due to an injury, but I've just done my first ever 5k. And I feel fine! For now, the plan is to get a better time, then to increase the distance. I've had hip replacement, knee surgery, stopped smoking, I'm 61 and feel great!

Blood tests
I have Hashimotos, B12 Def, lichen sclerosis, GERD, Vit D Def, Diverticulitis and a ANA 1:80 Speckled pattern and had one appointment so far with a rheumatologist. I’m on the emergency list for a full hip replacement, which I’ll hopefully have done in Approx 4 months time. When the Pandemic hit, I

Long way to go but feeling positive.
Started May 2nd from 5k and ticked off 6 runs to 12k with 2days minimum for repair between runs. Feeling in a good place and applying the advice I get from the Forum. Wish I could say the same for House & garden stuff. All dependent on weather and hired help. Not much to choose between dependability. At

Undiagnosed and positive ANA
I joined in 2013 with a positive ANA Test 1:80 Nucleolar pattern suggesting schleroderma. I had follow up tests and no diagnosis. I’ve had 3 failed Endoscopes, as I woke up from sedation grabbing the camera, so Gastro has never found out, why I choke when eating, barium swallow confirmed GERD, I have

How much to tell gp!
I had an x ray today, the result of which is that it’s more than likely (I think, due to the state of it!) that I’ll need a hip replacement. This now makes sorting out my hormone issues and remaining muscle weakness etc rather more pressing than it might have been. My muscle tone is non existent following

Post induced coma loss of appetite, severe weight loss
My brother is in rehab after aspirating stomach acid following a routine partial hip replacement. He lost a lot of weight while in the induced coma due to being put back on a ventilator after the aspiration while extubating him but after 23 days on vent he is now on about day 12 in a comprehensive rehab

ANA Positive 1:80 Nucleolar pattern 2013 and ongoing pain. The last 5 weeks I can barely walk.
I paid privately for another ANA test and awaiting the results which should be with me today. I have Hashimotos, B12 Deficiency with positive Gastric Parietal Cell Abs but no diagnosis of Pernicious Aneamia. For the past 8 years I’ve been back and forth to my GP with mainly pain in my lower joints,

Big Shock !
Had a telephone call from the Respirotory Nurse late Thursday afternoon, asking for my Sats readings which she asked me to record from December, I knew that I had declined slightly but was not overly worried. However this seemed to send her into a panic , which I have witnessed before with the Consultant

Hip replacement
Hello lovely people - do you have any tips for surviving this op?! I am on 7.5mg Prednisolone - would this matter? I have a referral so far but not seen a specialist. I would prefer to cope at home (alone) much as I love my daughter 6 weeks at her place isn't ideal. Especially not for one of the

No antibodies update
Hi everyone, I seem to have opened up a can of worms regarding no antibodies and 2 vac of Astra Zeneca, I’m going to have another test in a few weeks to see if it’s improved, failing that I’m not sure where I go from here, I’ve got my op coming up in a few weeks so also very concerned I may be susceptible

Pain in calf/foot after hip bursa shot
Steroid shot to the left hip's bursa helped my pain immensely but the remaining pain in the calf, sometimes going down to the foot has been discouraging in as much as I am scheduling hip replacement. Somehow I doubt that my GP doctor can help me on this pain. Any suggestions?

I am positive for about 4 years now. Can this disease suddenly attack your whole body?
I now have arthritis had hip replacement in September. Have hypothyroidism my teeth are rotting have spinal stenosis Barrett’s Esophagus ulcers colon polyps. I feel like my body is breaking down. I am 71 and attribute a lot to age but it seems it’s one thing after the other. All of you in health unlocked

Hiv transmition by a syringe stick
If you find a syringe in the trash, and you accidentally stick yourself on it or you think that you have. Will you get hiv? Does the hiv virus live the syringe or is it different by injecting it and to get a syringe stick on your finger?
