Transcobalamin
I have read often that B12 in the blood stream is not important and all that is important is the B12 available at the cellular level. I have not read as of yet that it is possible to experience both PA and an inborn transcobalamin error. It seems to be a one or the other method. With an inborn transcobalamin

NOT PMR, says the Rheumy, after almost 7 years! YOU WHAT?
Have I just had an appointment with the worst NHS Rheumatologist out there or has he got it right? It’s probably never been PMR, says he, just arthritis! Your CRP is 1. It certainly isn’t extra cranial GCA as there is no claudication on chewing or speaking. He felt round my jaw, expecting TMJ which

When to add Lynparza?
I completed six rounds of chemo (docetaxel + carboplatin) end of February. Bottom line from PSMA Pet scan in late March: some tumors reduced in size/intensity, others stayed the same, no new PCa evident. PSA remains undetectable. I’m on Lupron and Nubeqa. Genetic testing shows my cancer has the ATM mutation

Feeling sad
Thank you to everyone previously who replied to my post about a small drink on my birthday. Just wondering if anyone else feels as low as I do now after having a heart attack 2 months ago. I am awaiting counselling but honestly feel I wish I had died and not recovered. Pushing everyone away and wondering

High Bilirubin, Not Gilbert's
Hello, I was hoping for any advice on this situation - please be brutal if you think I've lost perspective. I'm 38m & used to drink stupid amounts (like a bottle of wine/night). In August 2021, aged 36, I started panicking about this and went through a series of LFTs and CBCs, all of which showed everything

Trying to give docs the benefit of the doubt….
I’m seeing the trend! Like me, so many of us with CKD 3 weren’t told of their CKD, the diagnosis was minimized, or counseling/resources/treatment strategies weren’t provided. Why is this such a frequent occurrence? Do the docs feel powerless in the face of a progressive illness so don’t empower us to

Xtandi already failing? How is this possible
hi everyone. My dad met with his new oncologist today. He consented to genetic testing so his bloodwork will be sent out in 6 weeks. His new PSA reading came back at 2.84. On February 7th, it was 1.94. He also got another lupron shot today and it’s been over three months since he received one, maybe

feeling let down
Since my husbands heart attack in May last year I have been doing everything I can to help him recover and stay well. He had a very serious heart attack (widow maker), occlusion of his LAD with no viable tissue left to stent or bypass. He has been told by every health professional he’s ever met that

Genetic Testing for Anxiety Meds
Does anyone have any experience with using any test like this? Is it worth the money? Does it work? My son has been on 2 medications since last year for OCD/Anxiety (Lexapro and currently Prozac) and they work temporarily but don't seem to last. Not sure if a medication change is needed or the dosage

help with nightmares from ptsd
in October I had to put down my service dog that I rescued, she has lymes that we were treating and it came back almost every other month. I knew I didn’t have a lot of time left however the vets kept giving false hope that I had more time then I actually did. When the day came to put her to rest and

Intrusive thoughts
I finished my series chemo (first time I've had it) almost a year ago. Great news! But, I have to go for 3monthly checks and am finding it really difficult to forget about cancer. I get lots of intrusive thoughts about it. I'm about to have a second series of counselling, just wondered what anyone else
