Another Update from Us...
Good afternoon good people of LC. I have been struggling with everything so have been a bit quiet. HUGE thanks to those behind the scenes who have bothered to check in, and made me feel remembered and not alone. DH has been back and forth to the hospital recently, after the appointment he kept on

Questions about genetic testing
I’ve got mixed ductal PC. I’m post RALP, post-rad, 6 months into ADT. Setting research about the increased likelihood of metastasis with ductal, and the unreliability of PSA in indicating ductal, I’m anxious to touch all bases before it goes to lungs bones brain or liver. I’m already scheduled for

can’t get this out of my head
I’m Mark, I’m 49 in 2017 I underwent surgery. I ended up in intensive care, I suffered sepsis, pneumonia, multi organ failure and was put in an induced coma. My Glasgow coma scale score was 3, my family were told I was unlikely to survive. I did survive and the intensive care staff told me its a miracle

The Role of New Technologies in Myeloproliferative Neoplasms
I was reviewing some of the items in my bookmarked resources and came across this article from 2019. It was worth a reread. The article is a literature review and has some very interesting references regarding various issues related to MPNs, including information about the three driver mutations.

Diagnosed as Compound Haemochromatosis
I was made aware of this condition by a friend many months ago, possibly 18 months. I forgot about it until one evening around 7.30pm my GP rang to say my Ferritin level was over 900, well she sent me to our walk in centre for some blood tests, some how the ferritin had gone down but still over 300.

Had a good year on Taxol and it knocked my CA15 down to almost normal but its creeping back up and my PET shows new activity. We discussed a ton of options and I am grateful there are so many. We also re-ran my original tumors through some more advanced genetic testing. The bottom line next drug is

Accessing T3
Over 15 years ago a NHS consultant recommended that i take T3 along with T4 resulting in GP prescribing T3. . About 5 years ago local NHS refused to carry on prescribing T3 even though i had a genetic test proviing that I don't convert T4 to T3 readily. My supplier of T3 no longer seems to exist. Anyone

genetic testing
morning all My question is about genetic testing for prostate cancer. Is there a test that will show that family members are likely to get prostate cancer if one actually does have it? Thinking about my nephews. I have no children. Told my nephew who is 47 to start getting the testing and his family

Genetic testing results
I was tested by a PD gene program at Columbia Presbyterian and they found I have none of the 7 known mutations. They said that this is the case for 85% of people tested. I'm curious, have you been tested, and how many of you were negative for these mutations?

HANG IN THERE.
as a severe sufferer just want to let all my people know that you can live with it, hang in there when times are tough. There are ways to cope maybe not right away but over time it must become your friend not your enemy. Living with Tinnitus is a mental game not a physical. You Just have to find what
