I completed six rounds of chemo (docetaxel + carboplatin) end of February. Bottom line from PSMA Pet scan in late March: some tumors reduced in size/intensity, others stayed the same, no new PCa evident. PSA remains undetectable. I’m on Lupron and Nubeqa. Genetic testing shows my cancer has the ATM mutation, which qualifies me for Lynparza. My doc has put in order for Pluvicto, but uncertain when/if it will be available. My question: is there any downside to add Lynparza to my current treatment of Lupron and Nubeqa, or would it be beneficial?

When to add Lynparza?
Don't bother with Lynparza. Although it is approved for ATM, it really doesn't work and it is quite toxic.
Skifanatic, I too am ATM Positive. My new Oncologist with Duke agrees with TA. He said results dont justify the toxicity.
Btw: our Daughter just learned she too has the ATM Gene. It doubles her risk for breast cancer. Every child gets a 50% chance of having if either Parent has the mutated ATM gene. Evidentally there are several hundred Sub Variants of the gene, and some are much less virile than others. It repairs double strand breaks of the DNA, and Cancer multiplies so fast these breaks normally slow down its growth…..until ATM goes in and repairs the many double strand breaks of the PCa allowing it to (sometimes) grow faster than it would otherwise. Still lots to learn, it was only discovered in last 12 years. Crazy. Have skiied my whole life. Lived in Colorado Ski towns 6 of my 69 years. Most of those were 100+ day seasons. Snowboarded the past 25 years with our kids since they were young. Went back to skiing last year. Like riding a bike. Best to you and yours, Mike
