Brother in hospital with pulmonary fibrosis
My younger brother is in hospital. His symptoms got really bad after Christmas. Struggling to breathe, walk and eat properly. Lost so much weight. Has an IV drip for nutrients. He was on mycophenolate but the side effects were intolerable. I'm so worried. I think he has been protecting me re the severity

Cancelled cycle
Hi everyone, just wanted to see if anyone had experienced a cycle cancellation due to the risk of OHSS. After 8 days of stimulation, I've been told that my cycle had to be cancelled as too many follicles have been developing (29 were seen on the scan) and my estrogen levels were way too high (3,500

update : I saw the respiratory consultant today
He said he couldn’t hear
fibrosis
? He looked at my hands and said they looked like ‘mechanics hands’ and I have some early finger clubbing. He has referred to a rheumatologist saying it seems to have ‘progressed fast’ even tho you are feeling better ?

Breathlessness update
I should have mentioned that my father has been diagnosed with pulmonary
fibrosis
in the last 4 months, is 92 and almost completely deaf once he takes his hearing aids out.

Lost trust in elastography
After reading scientific studies I though fibroscan and other type elastography was pretty accurate in rulling in or rulling out
fibrosis
/cirrhosis, but i got serious doubts after reading here. Plenty of people having very low results even when they show typical signs of advanced cirrhosis.

Decreasing Forced Vital Capacity
I also have discovered I have oesophageal dysmotility and this can cause lung
fibrosis
. I am not stressing too much about it at the minute but I have another PFT next week. I am not sure when I will get the results of this test. Does everyone go onto treatment with ILD?

Waiting on a DX
We are finally making some progress and even thought I might be done with the hematologist (my BMB can back with no indication of a MPN, it did however show mild Reticulin
fibrosis
and low iron storage) My CBCs have been abnormal since 2017: WBC 13,000-19,000 RBC 5.62 ml Platelets 350-450 (they

Nice guidance on NAFLD
The result 10.8 so ipso facto advanced liver
fibrosis
. It would be good if someone from BLT would engage with this thread. IRO

PICSI or ZYMOT? also Intralipid or IVIG?
Good Morning everyone, I hope you are all well and having a good start to the week. I am hoping someone can add some valuable points or thoughts to help on our next and final round of ICSi. We have had 6 rounds of ICSI and the closest we got to a BFP, sadly ended up an ectopic on round 5. This round

bloated after surgery
Hi, I had uterine polyp removal in December and have a distended stomach/bloating since then. What could be the reason and what should I do? Thank you!

Any Thoughts On Numbers?
Apparently this all indicates no inflammation yet which is what causes scarring/
fibrosis
? I was told it is hard to justify a Fibroscan right now with these results along with good cholesterol, no diabetes or pre diabetes and controlled bp of 118/80.

Desogestrel
I’ve been on the mini pill since January now, I was on Lovima which is desogestrel and then switched to desorex (I believe they’re the same pill just different names) I’ve had two heavy periods since being on it, and constant spotting/bleeding. Sometimes the bleeds are light and literally just a dot

GGT readings high
I am going for a
fibrosis
ultrasound on Friday so fingers crossed we will get to the bottom of what is happening. Plus lots of blood tests. My mum had lupus and she had the same issue with her liver and she didn't drink they just kept putting it down to her illness.

Another post singing the praises of Guys Hospital and Prof H
I've spent the past 3 months worrying that I was told I had grade 1
fibrosis
(5 months after they did the BMB I might add) which changed my diagnosis, yet nothing was being done about it.

Fibrosis/ cirrhosis diagnosis
He asked if I'd received a letter (which I hadn't due to postal strikes) he told me I have liver
fibrosis
then mentioned cirrhosis. As I'm not a doctor I had absolutely no idea what to ask or if it was serious. We chatted about Christmas and family then said goodbye.
