I’ve been on the mini pill since January now, I was on Lovima which is desogestrel and then switched to desorex (I believe they’re the same pill just different names) I’ve had two heavy periods since being on it, and constant spotting/bleeding. Sometimes the bleeds are light and literally just a dot on toilet paper, other times they really feel like a period. Anyone else had experience with this? Starting to get a bit worried that my bleeding is caused by something else

I guess the other ingredients didn’t go well with your body. Consult your doctor/nurse tell them the side effects you had with it. On your prescription they would need to write specifically the brand name which you want “Lovima” for the pharmacy to be able to dispense it for you. It they write “desogestrel” on the prescription then the pharmacy would just give you the generic. Hope this helps ☺️

I have this problem with medication different manufacturers put other bulking agents in that cause side affects. Gps won't believe this when I explain to them I'm ok on a certain brand I know the main ingredient is the same but it's the fillers that are the problem. Pharmacists know this but they have to have the cheapest that Reps are selling that's why we get different brands all the time. Never-ending problem I'm afraid 😨 x

Hey!

I had a similar situation but I was on the combined pill maexeni and they changed me to ridgivedon which apparently is the exact same however I had the same issues you’re having, I called the doctors and told them what was happening and they basically told me that I’m imagining it all and it’s the same thing so it can’t be causing it but from further research it can do as not all ingridients are the same and I believe they can effect that. I managed to get back onto maexeni but I now go privately for it. They did try to tell me it would settle but I didn’t see why I had to put up with waiting however long for it all to settle when there is clearly a pill that works for me and is available, I hope they get it sorted for you, when I went back onto maexeni I was fine within the week.
