Hi Currygirl, I’m sure all will be well but it would be a good idea to speak to the doctor doing your knee surgery and explain everything. The anaesthetist could be brought into any discussion too. I hope you can be reassured and all goes well. Xxx

Hi I’m Deborah, I think they wait for your lungs to be at a certain percentage..it took a while for them to get the right diagnosis, I was first told it was interstitial lung disease. I have been taking it for six months.there are side effects, nausea/diarrhoea .some days I have no side effects.there is another one called perfenidone. I should ask your respiratory consultant if you can have one of these anti fibrotic meds

Hi again I think they mentioned that inerestial to me but I don't understand I thought I had p fibrosis isn't it the same

in reply to Currygirl

there’s lots of different ones, they should say which type you have. Have you had a Vats biopsy? That’s the only way to give you a sure diagnosis of which one it is x

No what the heck is that how long did you wait to be put on ninedtab

in reply to Currygirl

I don’t want to frighten you, you may have it mild, and probably Havnt got what I have ,it’s a video assisted thorascopic biopsy.excuse the spelling. Not very nice, as soon as I was told I had idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and he had looked at the spirotromety tests that’s special breathing tests which I had been having every six months he offered it to me

Hello Currygirl, I believe the rule is as long as your other health is under control you can have an op . However remember the risk is always more and recovery might be a little longer. Every best wish. But make sure the surgeon ect know your health status.
