Do parietal cell antibodies mean autoimmune gastritis and should you get regular endoscopy?
Hi, I'm new to posting here and this is my first post. I was diagnosed with hashimoto's (under-active thyroid) in 2004 and the doctor investigating at the time also found parietal cell antibodies (PCA) and sent me for an endoscopy to rule out pernicious anaemia and coeliacs. The endoscopy was normal

Been dealing with an issue for 14 months and can’t get diagnosed!! Opinions and thoughts needed!
Hi all, thought I’d reach out and share what I assume is a gastro-related issue that I’ve been dealing with for a while (approx 2 years), in hope to get some ideas and direction on how to get this diagnosed and treated within the NHS - because so far, with all the visits to the GP, trips to the hospital

New member not diagnosed.
Hello everyone, I'm a new member here who's spent the last couple weeks researching liver disease, reading your stories, trying to prepare myself for what I may have to look forward to. A little back story. I'm a 38 year old disabled combat veteran. I sustained a traumatic brain injury while in Iraq

Input would be greatly appreciated.
I'd be grateful of any advice to help me be prepared with the correct information before I contact my GP surgery. I've already received invaluable information from Forum members and the Pernicious Anaemia Society have been a lifesaver. Please excuse my long story and any over sharing of information

Day before I have biopsy taken of what is on my lungs, by going down my throat.
Tomorrow my endoscopy shall be at 2.30. So today I’m going to do my painting by numbers. I’ve finished the yellow lab puppy. I’ve been self isolating since my hospital COVID test on Sunday. I have been missing my cycling as consultant advised me not to. I was just starting again - after a 6 mths break

Intermittent diarhoea
After gall bladder removal in 2017, have suffered with diarrhoea. Had endoscopy, bowel scan and stomach scans. Some diverticulitis was diagnosed with bowel scan. Have tried Fodmap diet and discarded gluten, lactose, caffeine, red meat and spicy foods. Do have periods of normal bowel function

Advice about bisoprolol please
Has anyone been told just to stop taking bisoprolol and aspirin? I had a heart ct scan 2 weeks ago and a subsequent call from the cardiologist to say that the results were good, my heart was ok and to stop taking the bisoprolol and aspirin. Can I just stop just like that? I've been taking them for a

Anemia
I have had one iron infusion and am due for a second infusion this week. My doctor explained that he still needs to determine the cause of my anemia. He suggested I have a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy to rule out any bleeding. I had both tests performed October 2020 and nothing was found. My GI

Bowel prep for colonoscopy - long post. Sorry.
Hi. I thought I would kick off with the dreaded bowel preparation (clearing) required prior to having bowel examinations or surgery. There are a number of products (some branding names vary between USA and UK). So, this is my journey this year: Needed a colonoscooy as well as Upper GI Endoscopy so appointment

Can’t believe it!
Can anything else go wrong? I am going for Ivor Lewis on 9th June, meanwhile our GP rang to say my husband has a suspicious bowel sample result and has to go for a colonoscopy on the 3rd June and my son in law is having problems swallowing so is going for an endoscopy tomorrow. I haven’t told anyone
