Rapid weight gain
I was pretty shocked when I weighted myself today and wondering if our scales are inaccurate! I've never been so heavy and blobby despite my abstinence from alcohol and efforts to be disciplined with food. In fact I eat a lot better than when I was a full-on drunk - fruit and vegetables daily. I've got

Taking Synthroid in AM on Empty Stomach Causes Pain
Currently on Synthroid 100 mcgs. I’ve had this problem for nearly two years. Every time I take this medication—empty stomach/mornings—-I immediately suffer Right Flank and Right Back pain. I’ve had multiple endoscopies, colonoscopies and nothing shows up. Also told that I have adequate stomach acid

Does FND cause gastroparesis? What else will FND do to me?
My endoscopy came back normal, so my gastroenterologist is thinking I may have gastroparesis. I have to schedule a gastric emptying scan. So my question is does FND cause gastroparesis? I have bloating, fullness, gas, nausea and stomach discomfort. I notice that I get very nauseous after eating anything

Pain from chronic gastritis
Hi , I was diagnosed with chronic gastritis by endoscopy last year despite already being on Esomeperasole which I was prescribed a week after having my gallbladder removed 9 years ago . My gp just recommends increasing my meds but that doesn’t help . My symptoms start as soon as I wake up and sit up

Normal?
Hi everyone. I just wondered who can relate so apologies for “tmi”. Everyday I have soft lighter tan stools (type 6) and today I have never had a bowel movement that large. I’m assuming it’s all stress I can’t get a solid bowel movement as I eat very clean, no dairy and very minimal gluten. I don’t eat

Health anxiety - reining it in while you undergo tests: can you?
I’ve been having lots and lots and lots of investigative tests recently because of being anaemic for a year and because of many other odd symptoms - in more than 1 part of my body - that have yet to be explained away. I’ve had a mammogram, an endoscopy, a colonoscopy, ECGs, a CT scan (that went wrong

Cirrhosis over time.
Hi, I’ve recently joined having been diagnosed with cirrhosis back in March 2021. I’ve not had a drink since then, my health has improved significantly and I feel a whole lot better. My bloods are now normal and my recent endoscopy showed 2 small grade 1 varicies with no red risks. At my recent check

Has anyone had a capsule endoscopy?
I’ve had a gastroscope and a colonoscopy now the gastroenterologist has suggested a capsule endoscopy just to check my small intestines. I nervous about swallowing such a large looking pill especially as I normally crush pills if I can. I also hate the thought of taking any kind of prep again, I found

Another update on 5th heart surgery….
Ok, well I’ve now been here for almost 2 weeks and hoping to be discharged today. Thought I’d give a bit more of a comprehensive update (although don’t want to scare anyone!) Quite a few problems with various levels (INR, potassium and hemoglobin) which has lead to several blood transfusions and potassium

Good outcome after colonoscopy.
Just had the colonoscopy, they found one polyp, and Diverticulosis, which is manageable with diet control. The good news no cancer ! I watched the hole thing as they were doing it just had a bit of gas and air at the start, it was ok only a bit of discomfort. With being anemic I have to have a Endoscopy

Sublingual B12?
Hi there! Despite a low B12 level (95), macrocytosis and neurological symptoms, my GP really just wanted to put me on 100 mcg per day of B12 for 3 months. Since I didn't test positive for IFABs, I had to fight to get injections, but was only given 5 loading doses. My husband has felt unwell for some

Update on endoscopy
UPDATE: I had endoscopy for nausea, bloating and cramping for two months. I was very nervous and my heart rate sped up when they wheeled me in, luckily the propofol sedative knocked me out quickly and completely, I didn’t even feel myself drift off, just next second woke up in the recovery room. Didn

Hi Everyone! I hope you’re all staying safe and well. It’s certainly been an interesting month to say the least and will glad to be moving into October. Let’s just say there’s been alot of not so good behaviors from both girls and they’ve kept us busy and stressed. We try to remind them that we love
