CT cardiac angiogram
I had a CT cardiac angiogram in February and have just had the letter with the results and there is one result which is strange as it said “there is also a hiatus hernia”. I thought a hiatus hernia was to do with the oesophagus. However in January I had an Endoscopy and nothing unusual was found.

Chronic pancreatitis
At the Emergency department I was 1st told I had a kidney infection, I have had those in the past but this time I had no pain just a very swollen stomach. However I went home with antibiotics feeling hopeful. 2 days after finishing them I returned to my GP who referred me back to the Emergency department

Cardiac symptoms with gastointestinal cause
I have angina symptoms and a scan has revealed a coronary artery blockage. However I have noticed that sometimes my symptoms disappear when I burp. Years ago a routine stomach endoscopy revealed that I have a hiatal hernia. I did some research and it seems a significant hiatal hernia can mimic cardiac

I would like to thank the BHF Nurse that actually took the bother to call me after I emailed for help and advice, she was very empathetic and gave me good advice about keeping a record of my blood pressure’s and taking it in the morning when I get up after I’ve pottered about but before any medication

Acid Reflux - what else can I do?
Hi Guys, This is my first post on here, I am male, 54 non smoker and have been on Lansoprazole 30mg for over 10 years with the odd bout of indigestion but always fine afterwards and normally able to eat and drink what I like as long as I'm careful the next day. 6 weeks ago we had a Chinese take away

Duloxetine
Hi all, I’ve been suffering with IBS-M for over 3 years now. As a result Anxiety has been exacerbated for around the same amount of time and led to mild agrophobia and severe GAD. I’ve been prescribed Duloxetine for the anxiety, and have also heard it can be beneficial for IBS suffers. However,

15 years ago I had endo ablation and 2 x 5cm ovarian cysts aspirated with success until now. Fast forward a relatively easy time of periods but on/off PMS with an undiagnosed progesterone intolerant body I am now perimenopausal at 47 years of age in health dire straits. I started on Evorel Sequi, changed

Endoscopy.. Varices or something else
Finally got my endoscopy appointment for May. I have cirrhosis and ascites, I understand that varices develop when blood flow through the liver is obstructed by scarring, increasing the pressure inside the portal vein, portal hypertension. I'm already on diuretics and I can take propranolol if needed

Ulcers in terminal ileum
Hi, I've posted on here a couple of times, so I won't repeat myself! I had my gallbladder out in June 2020 and developed severe diarrhoea. GP referred me to Gastroenterology (currently going through the IBD route for a diagnosis as my calprotectin levels have been elevated). I had my second colonoscopy

gastroscopy or endoscopy
hello, as part of early tests on my upper digestive system I’m to have a gastroscopy in the few weeks to look for damage or cancer, is a gastroscopy the same as the endoscopy? I will be having a colonoscopy in four weeks so quite close together. Reading the info I’m required to lie on my side but

Diag with NAFLD Cirrhosis from biopsy, doctor said theres no difference between a 15kpa and 30kpa fibroscan score, confused?
Hi guys, I had a fibroscan score a couple months back of 30kpa which I took to suggest I had fairly advanced cirrhosis, had a biopsy which confirmed cirrhosis, when I was told the results I asked for liver doctor if given my fibroscan score of 30kpa it meant that I was far gone and could expect to become
