Long term (12yrs) steroid user (Betamethasone now and Prednisolone at the start) for Asthma. I have Steroid induced Type-2 diabetes and high blood pressure amongst other things. Adrenals are unresponsive to the injected 'infusion' test. I've been advised by the chest consultant at my local general

Hi everyone, thanks so much for support and advice. It's been invaluable and given me the confidence to purchase vit b12. Could someone tell me which needles to use for intramuscular injections. Thank you

Peripheral Neuropathy
I was diagnosed with PBC around 6 years ago. Due to the current Covid -19 situation here in the UK I haven't had any contact my Gastroenterologist for almost 2 years. I understand, one of the symptoms associated with PBC is Peripheral Neuropathy. I have this condition in both feet, numbness, burning

The importance of GOOD SLEEP 💤💤 . . . in preventing, & recovering from Type 2 diabetes, T2D ( - a larger category than T2DM).
For those who feel their sleep is below par too often, these may be of interest: 1) from 2001: https://www.atsjournals.org/doi/full/10.1164/ajrccm.165.5.2103001 2) from 2017: https://erj.ersjournals.com/content/49/4/1700179#ref-14 Can readily believe prolonged poor 💤💤💤 quality leads to greater chance

Is it just me?
Hi, is it just me that can’t tolerate the smell of perfume or aftershave ( any fragrance brand) at all? It makes me want to rip my skin off. I was never like this before lupus. ( diagnosed about 7 years ago but lived with it for about 15) I didn’t have this issue before lupus I’ve had to tell my daughter

New ache in wrists
Hi all - wishing everyone the best of health (or at least some relief) for the holidays. I have a new or worsening symptom & wondering if it‘s familiar to anyone. I have developed an unrelenting ache in my wrists & hands. I have had issues with neuropathy - shooting pains, numbness, & iciness, but

Spironolactone
I was recently in hospital in Cyprus with pneumonia. Whilst there it was discovered that I had dangerously low potassium levels. That was dealt with and I lost 6 kgs of fluid in 5 days. On discharge I was told to stop taking Bumetanide, which I had been on for 11 years and go onto Spironolactone. It

Fixing the Microbiome - Fighting Pathogens?
I do a lot of things to help my brain and clean up a-synuclein in the gut (and hopefully the brain), but it seems to me that no protocol is complete unless it addresses normalizing the microbiome, and assuming that if there is some pathogen in the microbiome that started this cascade, addressing that

Anterior prolapse?
Hi everyone, I am new to this group. Joined today after I started doing some research on Anterior Prolapse. I visited the physiotherapist today and was told that my pelvic muscles were really tight. Towards the end of the session, she mentioned to me that my bladder is too low. She specifically said

Increasing self doses
After recent diagnosis and poor care from doctors, I am self injecting as I have said in a few previous posts. My plan was once every 2 weeks - boy I was wrong. Symptoms return like a total crash, really bad. I am now on 3 times a week just to keep the symptoms away, bearing in mind it takes 2 days from

Atorvastatin and PMR
Does anyone take Atorvastatin who has been diagnosed with PMR? I was diagnosed with PMR nine years ago. Couldn’t get below 3mg and have been put on a ‘ maintenance’ dose of 5mg as my adrenal glands don’t seem to want to wake up. It’s been recommended that I take a statin to protect against stroke/

Inhibition of Epstein-Barr virus reactivation in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells by dietary sulforaphane 2013
EBV is a very common latent virus (up to 95% prevalence) and has been linked to autoimmune diseases and inflammation. PD may be an autoimmune disease. Seeing what things tamper down EBV. Since many etiologies of non-
diabetic
nephropathy
are characterized by intraglomerular hypertension, we hypothesize that dapagliflozin acutely decreases GFR and proteinuria in patients without diabetes at risk of progressive kidney function loss via a glucose independent hemodynamic mechanism.

Diagnosis
So after a year and a half of being told I have Fibromyalgia, I've just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes! I'm shocked it's taken so long but more disappointed and upset with myself for not looking after myself. Feeling very overwhelmed and low but at least I know why I've felt so poorly.

2022 New Year 🎁: The J R Kraft test, & the REAL pathology of Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes ( - of which T2DM is the 'end-stage' of disease !).
"2022" greetings to all readers ! Searching for "Kraft" today on this forum returned only 18 results, & none from the past year or two ! That's a pity, as the fruits of pathologist Dr Joseph R Kraft's research about insulin & associated glucose levels are worth knowing about & understanding in broad

Steroid injection
Hi everyone. I had a steroid injection this morning in my little finger. It's been locking alot lately and causing pain in my lower arm. I'm told it's because of skin thickening in my hand. Only diagnosed in July. Has anyone else had this experience?
