Infections during Chemo
After my LRP (2010) I had UTI's continually for ~2 years. I have no idea what finally shook them off -- a change from a tropical to a temperate climate, maybe? I am not coming to the end of the oral treatments available to me. At some time in the not too distant future I will be moving to docetaxel

Anybody doing 'The Full Diet'?
Hi Everyone Just wondered if anyone is losing weight via "The Full Diet" ? Its a book /method written by Saira Hameed, an NHS Consultant. Its all about going back to basics on eating - cutting out highly processed foods, eating within an eating window and reducing carbs. Its an interesting read

Niacin and Butyrate: Nutraceuticals Targeting Dysbiosis and Intestinal Permeability in Parkinson’s Disease
Does anybody have a good recommendation for Butyrate? I need to get off the dime and add this to my stack.

Low blood sugar
Has anyone been experiencing blood sugar crashes at times. Recently I have been having low blood sugar attacks mostly at around 5.00 when I am doing my afternoon dog walk. It results in most hypo symptoms and a blood test showed my blood sugar down to 3.6 mml. I told the rheumatologist during my telephone

Crosstalk between the neuroendocrine system and bone homeostasis
Immensely frustrating that the abstract is so sparse and that is all we can access. At present, I simply hope we can get away from the extremely simplistic view that low TSH, in itself, causes bone problems. But all we can really see is that it is complicated.

I can't sleep feel like my heart is going to stop
It's one of those nights again. I feel pressure in my chest. I thought I was going to be able to sleep today but I guess not. Its frustrating because I was already falling asleep but I was awaken by a sudden jerk. Now every time I am falling asleep I get woken up by the sudden jerk that makes me feel

Started my grandmother on TTFD
I am my grandmother's primary care taker. I recently learned about HDT and decided to try it on her. Every morning I videotape her eating, which I will use to see if her condition gets better or worse over time. She is 87, having parkinson's for at least 25 years. In the last year her on-state dyskinesia

Late onset type 1 diabetes?
Husband diagnosed with cirrhosis a couple of months ago, fibroscan reading confirmed this but no varices and no ascites. Waiting to hear back further from gastroenterologist on this. In the meantime, the metformin he had been prescribed for T2 diabetes didn't seem to be working, still had all the symptoms

Lyrica pregabalin
Since Horizant is now breaking down before 24 hours, I’m thinking of switching to Pregabalin/Lyrica. What is the group’s experience with pregabalin? Has it helped people?

High cholesterol
I have recently signed up the Our Future Health programme. I was invited along for a blood test and a finger prick cholesterol test. The cholesterol result came back as 10.14 and I was told to go to my GP. I had a cholesterol blood test at my doctors surgery in July and it came back as 6.1. I thought

Blood sodium levels
Stage 3b My last labs over the past year have had a decrease in my blood sodium levels. Last test was 131. Nephrologist said I need to start eating more protein as that helps to keep sodium in your bloodstream instead of getting out in your body tissue. I don’t have any edema and take a diuretic. Not

Over and over and over again!
Well, me and Week5 Run3 have become VERY good friends. I've done a total of four re-runs now, the last one being this morning, and can now cruise through without too much of a challenge. So my next run will be Week6 Run1 and hopefully onwards and upwards. I have been having a bit of a challenge with

Sadly Pluvicto did not work ...
After receiving the results from my PSMA PET scan at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, I am sad to say my disease is progressing. I had four Pluvicto infusions with no SE's what so ever.. I felt that they mirrored my Docetaxel treatments again other than my hair falling out I had no other SE's. which

There is a research article in the news article section of the New Scientist that week saying that Taurine supplements may extend lifespan and health as we get older. 12,000 60 year olds were analysed and higher taurine levels correlated with better health and lower incidence of type 2 diabetes and reduced

Foot pain
Since the recent temperature change I've began having serious pain in my feet. Feels like I've been walking all day. Night times are bad as feet feel like they are on fire so have to keep them out of the bed sheets. It all started after a recent holiday and since being back and the increase in temp back

HELP! Firmagon reaction?
Hi - yesterday I had my 3rd monthly (80mg) injection of Firmagon. For all my previous injections, including the 2 initial loading doses, I did not have any major side effects, just some minimal soreness at the injection site which resolved in less than 2 days. Yesterday's injection was a little bit
