Foot pain

Since the recent temperature change I've began having serious pain in my feet. Feels like I've been walking all day. Night times are bad as feet feel like they are on fire so have to keep them out of the bed sheets. It all started after a recent holiday and since being back and the increase in temp back here it isn't showing any signs of stopping. Never experienced anything like this in my life before. Just wondering if its fibro related and if it is do I go to GP or will it be a total waste of time? Dose anyone suffer with it and what helps? Also have my pip review. Sent information in months ago but not mentioned my feet as wasn't an issue then. Do I need to tell them about it?

I'm sorry you're suffering so with your feet, but it's not a change you'd need to report as far as your PIP review goes. A worsening of condition isn't considered a 'change of circumstances' & hopefully things may improve anyway; I hope so.

I too suffer from hot feet. I bought a JML gel cooling pillow mat and put it under my feet. I find that this works really well. I have got two of these so when it is really hot I put one in the pillow case too. You can use them as they are, or if still not cool enough you can put them in the fridge for a bit before bed. Hope this helps.

It would be worth a try

I too suffer from this and have wondered what causes it. It's really painfull I know. I have a compressed spine issue and thought it may be due to pressure building during the day annoying spinal nerves, as after rest overnight the pain has subsided a lot but is still there. My feet are quite sensitve and I feel like I am walking barefoot on cobbles most of the time anyway. I also have this pain in my hands but this occurs in the morning This illness is very wearing, but you must strive to overcome the issues presented to you and push on through. The cooling idea is a must try. Good luck.

Hi, you could try a foot soak with some epsom salts + Luke warm water, magnesium oil, lotion or spray, menthol foot cream or capsaicin cream, even Vicks is quite good

Ruddy feet, chop them off I would. Unfortunately I need them.

I have this every day feet and toes swell on fire itch and at times need crutches to walk . I have had to go up a size in trainers due to not being able to put them on .

What has the doc said about it? My doc is took bloods and thinks I'm diabetic but I'm not overweight and I know its not that

All they say is it is fibromyalgia and arthritis. I've had all my bloods done. Still have inflamation but lower then it was. I'm on duloxtine and sulfasalazine naproxen.

This is coming from nerves in the bottom of your feet. Try rolling your foot on a tennis ball when watching the TV. Try rubbing Alovera on bottom of feet at bed time also. It also could be discs at l4 L5 and s1.. I'm in same position.

I have it too, but I keep moving, as it helps with the circulation. I find if I sit too long I get swollen legs due to poor circulation, so for me it's keep getting up and walking around, Outdoors if the weather's good, but if I went out now and got wet, I'd set like concrete!

Cheers, Midori

I find the more I use them the more they hurt and the hot weather also makes them hurt more

Yes, mine hurt more in hot weather, but I have lousy circulation so my feel are always trying to swell; I just bite the bullet and keep on keeping on!

I refuse to allow my body to dominate what I can and can't do. Yes, I walk so slow even snails can overtake me. But I walk.

Cheers, Midori

Heat, massage for the nerves, cooling mat/socks - what about putting them in cold water, or alternately hot and cold to get the 'thermostat' working better?
