Since Horizant is now breaking down before 24 hours, I’m thinking of switching to Pregabalin/Lyrica. What is the group’s experience with pregabalin? Has it helped people?

Are you still weaning off pramipexole? If so that might be the reason the Horizant isn't lasting 24 hours as you get near the end your symptoms increase from the withdrawal. What time are you taking it and what time does it stop working?
It is basically the same as Horizant except it doesn't last 24 hours. You could take it every 8 hours or use it to supplement your horizant.
Yes I am still weaning off pramipexole but I’m using a micro taper to avoid withdrawal symptoms. When I tried to withdraw just using the solid pills I had awful withdrawal symptoms. Now I take the pramipexole to a compounding pharmacist and have it turned into a liquid so that I can withdraw from the drug in infinitely small doses thereby tricking the brain. It will take another year for me to finish this micro taper.
I take the Horizant around 9 PM and it was wearing off by around 11 AM but today I was getting RLS symptoms nonstop through the night. My RLS takes the form of not only movement in my right foot, but I get this “weird feeling” that I have always called "negative orgasm". I’m getting that “weird feeling” in minor form that keeps me from sleeping and keeps me edgy all day long.
Ask your pharmacist what the equivalent dose of pregabalin to horizant would be. If less than 300 mg you could start with that dose and then increase it by 25 mg every couple of days until you find the dose that works for you. According to the Mayo Clinic Updated Algorithm on RLS: "Most RLS patients require 200 to 300 mg pregabalin." However until you are completely off pramipexole and your symptoms have settled it won't be fully effective.
Be careful Pregabalin makes me dizzy and I tend to fall easily.
Taking 150mg at lunchtime and 300mg before bed along with codeine phosphate not great but I'm not climbing the walls all night lucky to get a few hours sleep even though its broken sleep but some better than none
First of all let me preface my response by saying the jury is still out on pregabalin. I have been taking 100 mg at night along with .25 mg of clonazepam for the most part. However the Lyrica has made my appetite go wild! The RLS symptoms have subsided somewhat but not to where I can say it is successful in treating my symptoms? I’m sorry on the delay.
