Newbie - Help with Blood Test Results Please
I’m new to this forum and looking for some help with recent blood tests. I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism (Hashimotos) in December last year with a TSH of around 20 and positive antibodies. I was put straight onto 100mcg of Levothyroxin and gradually started to feel better. I had so many symptoms

RA & Anemia
Hi all - hope you are doing well. I come here today with a question about iron deficiency anemia and rheumatoid arthritis. I have been anemic my whole life - I had PICA as a kid where I ate sand and crayons and other weird stuff because I had such a severe mineral deficiency and this wasn't detected

Not able to get B12 now for Amazon Germany
Hi All Forgive me if this has been posted before, I am not the best at searching this site. I require frequent B12 injections (2-3 a week) or my symptoms come back. Obviously, I will never get this from my GP. I got my supply from Amazon in Germany but I just tried to re-order and (Google translate

Maintaining ferritin level
Hi I am looking for advice regarding maintaining ferritin level. I had an iron infusion in May after 3 years of iron deficiency anaemia and my ferritin has been slowly dropping I'm guessing from heavy periods? Is there any way to maintain a good ferritin level without eating liver (I don't like the taste

Thyroid Meds and Iron Interactions:
Is 8 hours long enough in between levothyroxine and iron supplements? I take levo at 5:30am, iron at 1:30pm, and prenatals at 9:30 pm (I just started taking the iron so I wanted to be sure).

Neuros and movement specialist
Many pwp are dissatisfied with their specialists. Every neuro is a self proclaimed expert and the best out there! But sadly they only have a few things they can influence with pd: 1) Prescribe meds: l/d, agonists and azilect. Basically if you feel compromised and you have pd then l/d is prescribed and

Deep brain stimulation research
Hi all - I've just been browsing through Pubmed and came across this study http://www.clinph-journal.com/article/S1388-2457(16)30523-5/abstract. I can't access the full article, only the abstract that states 'ppn deep brain stimulation has emerged as a potential treatment for balance disorders'. It

I have been on ferrous sulfate 325mg 3forx a day for the past month and have honestly been feeling 80% better. however, all week I've been feeling worse. I get short of breath everytime I take the pills, I'm dizzy when i wake up until I go to bed, and I have had headaches . I also feel nauseousat least

Has anybody had an iron infusion?
Hello all, I went to a very helpful and patient endocrinologist yesterday as recommended by the lovely ladies here. It was a private appointment. I am hypothyroid and I have antibodies around the 200 mark. One of the main issues I have is fatigue and I struggle to increase my ferritin levels as I cannot

Reactive Gastritis?
Hi, I went to see the gastro consultant last week following my colonoscopy and gastroscopy in august. She said all the results and biopsies where completely normal and show conclusively that I do not have any absorption issues or pernicious anaemia. I got a copy of the pathology report and had a look

Hypothyroid and aneamic but not through iron deficiency
Hi I'm hypothyroid on thyroxine and had a full blood count done and the dr said I'm slightly anaemic but not through iron so im confused . My results are B12 - 683 (170-730) so I'm thinking this is good? Serum ferritin 17 ( 10-290) this seems low to me even tho she said it's not a shortage of iron.

Newly diagnosed
I just started on Levothyroxine 25 microgrames. My ferritin was a bit low 39.6 (20-291). So I bought ferrous fumarate 210mg and plan to take on each day until retest in 6 weeks. Does this sound good? Is it safe to start this on my own without talking to my doc? The pharmacist was a bit reluctant to sell
