Blood Analysis Kindly Requested!
Thank you so much for all your excellent replies to my previous posts. My doctor has highlighted my B12 as being high and wants me to reduce. l started injecting every other day for the past month and my level jumped from 268 to over 1400. Seems excessive though l've heard this is common when you start

Has anyone started on NDT whilst iron/ferritin is rock bottom?
Hi - I'm going through the preparations stages (loads of relevant blood testing) before I take the leap to go and see someone privately to get NDT prescribed. I've been on T4 only for over 2 years and I still have some hypo symptoms. I have ongoing problems with iron deficiency - my ferritin is currently

Iron deficiency
Hi, I've had a recent blood test that shows very low iron levels. Anyone else have the same issue? If so, can anyone recommend options as my stomac cannot tolerate iron tablets. Thanks, Jay

Activa remote error code 006
We are abroad in Majorca and my husband's DBS Activa remote is showing code 006 and we can't use . This is devastating because the only way my husband can walk distances is by switching it off. It's also weekend and we can't phone our PD nurse and nobody in the hospital can help. I also phoned Medtronic

Ferritin
I've just got my latest ferritin result and it is still too low - 25 ug/l (range 12-250 but I understand it really needs to be above 50). Over the past several years I've had it tested several times and it has varied from 18 to 38. I've been taking iron supplements for several years - 15-18 mg/day for

Broken Places story of Parkinson's
I recently published a book named, Broken Places. One of the chapters is about my diagnosis and subsequent journey to find proper treatment. For anyone just diagnosed, I think this might be enlightening. You can view the book at: www.amazon.com/author/nancywhitfield I recently underwent DBS at Stanford

Night
My nights are getting pretty bad now. Do you guys take medicine throughout the nighttime? It would be okay if i didn't have to pee every 2 hours. Also, i have no tremor but I do have wearing off, freezing up, swallowing issues, balance problems, speech issues, can hardly walk when off the med. Does

Recumbent trike
I think I just found the answer to fitness and weight gain. Since my Dbs success I've been hitting the gym 3x weekly. I actually gained 30 lbs but unfortunately it's been 50/50 muscle:fat according to my bmi scale. I just haven't been able to walk enough to keep the fat down. Today I purchased a

go off gluten/dairy when you have Hashimoto's...?
OK, so I just found this quite interesting article which In include it its entirety: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mark-hyman/6steps-to-heal-your-thyro_b_7603868.html I especially wonder about the part at the end, about NDT being difficult to dose: "That was true with the old Armour, not the new

NDT fillers/binders?
If cellulose binds thyroid hormone, and sugar on the other hand makes absorption easier, why would Forest replace sugar with cellulose? I read somewhere that they wanted to make Armour more diabetic-friendly, but wasn't there any other filler they could have chosen, instead of cellulose? Although, I

Vitamin and iron supplements do help!
It must be a year or more since I had my vitamin and Iron levels checked. I was under range in everything. Just have latest results since supplementing . Ferritin 384 (30-400) B12 1568 (190- 660). No vit D test even though I asked for it. Really pleased with these results!

Please recommend an iron supplement - thanks
I'm having my ferritin tested next week and it looks as if I will be ferritin deficient again. I've got a prescription for ferrous fumarate, but I'm happy to pay for something easier to take and more effective. The last time I had this issue, it took me five years to get my ferritin up from16 to 102
