I believe asthma can have close correlation to iron deficiency (anemia).
I'm a woman in my 50's, have had pet and house dust allergies all my life, take inhalers daily. Around two years ago I stumbled upon a product called SpaTone in Boots, which professes to be a natural iron-rich water which unlike most supplements is very gentle on the stomach. I started taking SpaTone

Which iron supplement?
I have been told I am iron deficient but doctor and endo have differing views on it. Ferritin is low - 23 (15-150) but complete blood count is normal except for MCV which was below range. It was 76f/L (80-100). My doctor told me at an appointment weeks ago it was slightly under range and in the past

what can be done when borderline hypo?
My daughter has been told by her GP that she is borderline hypothyroid and that she will test her again in three months to see if any treatment is needed. She is also anaemic so is taking some iron tablets. She is going on a big holiday after Christmas and would like some help before she goes as she

Cranial pressure pain with inflight cabin pressure changes. DBS question
Several days ago I was landing in a Bombadier Q400 aircraft. It is a new state of the art turboprop 88 passenger plane. The flight was perfect but for the last several minutes. The cabin pressure was not well controlled and I felt as if my head would implode. The pain was severe and it lasted for

Rytary for DBS
I had Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery in Feb 2015. Very successful since my main symptom was tremor which was totally controlled by Dopamine (generic carbodopa/levadopa). That is the situation the DBS surgery is designed for. I decided to try Rytary and haven't found the right dosage yet.

Anemia: A Cause of Intolerance to Thyroxine Sodium
This might be fifteen years old, but I cannot remember seeing it posted here! (Occasional repetition isn't such a bad thing either.) Am well aware that getting iron deficiency anaemia resolved is a mantra round here. Nice to see such a simpe statement. [i]

NDT and fillers/binders
There is one thing I have trying to figure out...if sugar is really necessary for optimal absorption of thyroid hormone? It is often said that Armour did not work as well after it was reformulated, and sugar was mostly replaced by cellulose. I have read several times that NDT should be chewed up

NEUPRO PATCH+ ROPINIROLE AND FALLING DOWN MORE
My husband just switched neurologists after 18 years. Was feeling that previous doc was really not paying attention to needs and concerns. We were very happy with the new doc and he made lots of changes in meds. My husband is now taken 8mg of ropinirole , 8 mg of carb/levo 25/100 and wearing a 2 mg Neupro

my doctor said that I would be a good candidate for Deep Brain Stimulation surgery. I am very hesitant to do this. Hoping I could hear from some of yo who has actually had the procedure. Or maybe some one you know very close to you that has had it. Hope you can help me. Deanna ( kachimom@comline.com
