Are you feeling lousy? Everything is too low. You need to suppliment everything.

Hi yes I don't feel great. Have so many symptoms I can't tell which are deficiency ones or thyroid. Thanks.

Are these private tests or tests done by GP

You really need to be treated properly for the B12 deficiency - suggest you take a look at the PAS forum on health unlocked. Best not to supplement B12 until you have managed to get a formal medical diagnosis as supplementation will make interpreting any further tests impossible.

Serum B12 isn't a good test so needs to be evaluated in light of symptoms but most GPs aren't aware of that. The overlap with Thyroid symptoms is going to complicate things further.

There is a risk of nerve damage if folate is supplemented without addressing the B12 problem - though the delay between the two only needs to be a day or so.

suggest you go over to the PAS forum and look through the pinned posts and post on there if you need support with getting your GP to recognise that you are probably deficient just above the range and need treatment with B12 shots.

Make a list of your symptoms as well - including if they could be thyroid or otherwise

Yes as mentioned explore pernicious anaemia as a cause of those very low levels. Doc should be giving you loading dose injections for b12 and folate and ferritin also both very low. You can buy folic acid and iron supplements OTC to get them up.

Not what you're looking for?
