Low iron
Hi all, I was diagnosed with PA about 8 months ago. I'm having injections but feel no better and now have very wiered feeling in my head and regular headaches. My iron level is now very low at 14 although that was over 3 months ago and dr thinks it will be much lower now. He thinks I might have some

Tiromel problems?
Good morning. Has anyone found Tiromel by Abdi Ibrahim to be weak lately? I opened a new batch this week and had to double my dose. I was out shopping and suddenly felt tired. I had felt tired for a few days but had attributed it to the usual suspects, low iron, low cortisol, low vit b12. And sent for

Advice on blood results please
Hi everyone, I would appreciate some input into my latest( and former)results please. I have been up and down with Hashis some time now, it now seems to be getting more erratic. It started Aug, 2016 when I was feeling jittery etc., so went to my gp to ask for blood test. These were all taken early morning

Low heamoglobin/ferritin and giving blood
I recently had a blood test that came back with low heamoglobin and low ferritin levels which would indicate some sort of iron deficiency. With that being said, I've given blood three times (only twice successfully) in a year and my iron levels were checked in the beginning each time and were good enough

Spinal Cord Stimulation for PD Pain
I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with electrical spinal cord stimulation for the treatment of pain related to PD. Meds have become ineffective and the pain disabling many days. I already have had dbs surgery so I figure at least I could keep some appliances running during a power outage

Totally weird bloodtest results!! Help please!!
So my blood test results came back, and I have fairly low ferritin (65.8 - ref. Range: 10-291) but high iron (33.8 - ref. Range: 8.8-27). I'm not taking any iron supplements, haven't taken any for years apart from 1 bottle of Floradix last summer. My transferrin was 2.63 (ref. Range: 2.00-3.80). B12

Help with blood test results please.
Hi, I'm new here and wondering if someone could please help me. I've just had a blood test done last Friday as I was feeling dizzy and exhausted a lot of the time. I asked for a full blood count and most of the result is showing below range especially the haemoglobin concentration. The doctor has

Deep Brain Stimulation
After much testing I was not diagnosed with Parkinson, but rather Essential Tremors. Months ago, I underwent DBS surgery, Deep Brain Stimulation at Barrows Neurological Institute, Dr. Francisco Ponce. DBS delivers minute electrical stimulation to specific areas of the brain via a surgical implant similar

Urinary metabolomics reveals glycemic and coffee associated signatures of thyroid function in two population-based cohorts
One of the fundamental questions about thyroid hormones is precisely what they do. Even from where we are today, with unbelievably sensitive techniques for investigating biochemical pathways, we end up saying things like "thyroid hormone affects metabolism". That sort of approach, whilst fundamentally

No folic acid without B12 first.
I've read this quite a lot - it is important to not take folic acid before supplementing with B12 if you have a deficiency in both. The reasons given are 1. It can mask the megaloblastic anaemia caused by B12d, delaying a diagnosis of B12 deficiency. and 2. It can exacerbate the neurological damage caused

DBS Off vs DBS On - Deep Brain Stimulation
Hi all This video shows the effect that Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) has upon my Parkinson's Disease symptoms. I perform a number of tasks with DBS switched off, and then repeat them with DBS switched on - the difference is amazing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Hlo_5nDX4 Cheers, Ian
