Need help with best type of iron supplement and suggested dosage for addressing low ferritin. Are MCHC levels in blood tests important?
I have posted here once and had one reply but I still need advice about iron and would be grateful if anyone could help. I now realise my ferritin has been consistently low since 2015. (Not looked at earlier results). I understand from various posts on here that this should be in the upper part of the

Need to get a grip
So I’m 5 days in to my cycle, period pretty much done. This morning was fine but this afternoon I have become awash with tiredness which is completely uncontrollable. Had a sleep on couch and woke up literally like all the sadness in the word has wrapped around my heart. I have no energy, still feel

Hopefully it will clarify some of the mystery about the whole iron situations in our bodies. "Serum Iron - circulating iron, subject

On the fence over DBS
I'm new to posting. Have had PD diagnosed in 2012 after I cared for my husband and son with Huntington's over a period of 26 years, so I know how long and complicated neurological conditions can be. I have done pre-op for the Deep Brain Surgery and qualified for it, but my issues are not typical. I have

SX 1 of 2 Complete!
Well, I’m 3 days post-op from my DBS sx (shorthand for surgery), and everything went well. The neurosurgeon, and the psychiatrist (the one who came up w the study) were both really optimistic and encouraged that this will be a helpful tx (treatment) for me. The whole team in the OR were really kind to

So I went to the doctor a few months ago after having symptoms such as restless feet, brain fog , heart palpitations, cold feet and hands and feeling very fatigue. The doctor took my blood and these were my results . Iron 67 ( 50-170) TIBC 295 ( 250-450) saturation 23 (11-55) RBC ( 5.41) (4.2-5.4)

Do most people with liver disease have anemia? If so, what kind of anemia.
I have seen so many people with liver disease with anemia as the first sign of their diagnoses and they are put on iron. I am puzzled by that because most people suffering from ALD has high iron levels. and many other liver diseases tend to have high iron levels.

Iron (not ferritin) test
Hello, I'm a little confused and hopefully someone can set me right. I saw the neurologist again yesterday and he was pleased with my ferritin levels (about 120) but he realised I had never had my iron levels checked. I take an iron tablet every other day (although he didn't understand why I only took

New arrival but old and new issues dbs, cbd oil, constipation, Kemadrin
I am new to this. Constipation is a big issue as the dosage of Movicol combined with Senekot does not work consistently and PD medication on time reduces from 3 hours down. I am considering a home enema kit as I seem to be permanently constipated. Anyone tried an enema kit? DBS application now in process

Hi all, I was diagnosed with PA & Celiac Disease last October after being sick for more than 6 years. 4 of which I could barely put one foot in front of the other let alone remember why I was trying in the 1st place. Every doctor I saw immediately prescribed antidepressants, (which I refused to take

Super high B12
Can someone help me with my levels please? Serum folate 22.72 (6.60-1000.0) B12 3258 (180-914) Ferritin 22 (11-307) Trying to figure out if I’m anemic and also what type of iron to take. I have Hashimotos. I use to take sublingual b12 under the tongue (1200mg). Now I just take a B-stress vitamin.

DBS Surgery in IL
I am hoping to get the OK for DBS surgery soon. Would love to hear from anyone who has had this done in the Rush Shore Medical center Chicago IL or Evanston Hiospital in IL. Good or bad, I need to know.

Does anyone use Better You Iron Spray? If so could you share your experience 🙂
I was wondering if any Better You Iron spray users are finding 5mg daily dose enough? Kipsy & I have been talking & both need 20mg. We wondered as it's directly absorbed into the bloodstream would it be as effective as taking a 20mg tablet. We also wondered as it's directly absorbed do we still need

Anyone find C/L ineffective?
My husband has never been helped with any meds. Has been on carbo/levo 25-100 6 per day for over a year. He has no "on time or off time". Dr. wants him to go to 8 but I don't understand why since we do not see any change at all. He is now on B1 (Dr. C. said to stay on meds, probably because he doesn't
