I was scheduled to have DBS surgery on the 22nd, but it has been postponed because I have an accelerated heart rate, which I believe is
a side effect of taking Azilect. I started reading more about Azilect and found that many doctors recommend you stop usage for 14 days before any procedure using any anesthetic as the reactions can be deadly and you should never be given Demerol for pain. I am scheduled to see a cardiologist on Monday

Does anyone have experience of any problems with DBS and the use of induction cookers?
I'm due to be assessed for DBS at Frenchay (Bristol UK) hospital next year - having been told I am a suitable case and have just discovered that the pacemaker-type implant may be problematic with the induction cooker we use. Has anyone got any experience with these devices?

Ulcer drugs linked to vitamin B12 deficiency

Palpitations with low iron?
The last week or two I've been suffering with palpitations. These are not the loud, thumping ones but more of a flutter. The last two days they seem to be happening more often than I've experienced them before. They happen during the day. Two weeks ago I discovered that my ferritin was 33 (range

CLEAR POINT OR MRI INTERVENTION DBS SURGERY VOTED "No" BY UCLA BOARD OF REGENTS
I got the devastating news on Weds. that after waiting over a year for the surgery which was again promised in 30 to 60 days in August we were told they have decided not to do this surgery at UCLA . I have gotten progressively worse & had my hopes on this surgery! Now it appears we have to look at

What are the attributes of an effective treatment for PD?
Is a regimen of daily ingestion of Coconut Oil an effective treatment for Parkinson’s disease? If effective means effective cure, then the answer is NO. Is there something better? Again the answer is NO! https://www.michaeljfox.org/glossary.php#nuerons “No currently available treatment for Parkinson's

Vitamin b12 deficiency or pernicious anaemia? How to know the difference?
Recently you good people explained how my vitamin B 12 was way too low...it was somewhere in the 280 region (reference 225 - 1100). I am seeing my GP in the week and I need to be knowledgeable. As well as having coeliac disease and an underactive thyroid, I have been diagnosed with UCTD: recently I

DBS? . . . . . HELP!
I had an appointment with my neurologist this week. She is a movement disorder specialist and is a big proponent of DBS. I've known this about her since I began seeing her almost 2 years ago. However, we hadn't really discussed DBS prior to this most recent visit. At my appointment she told me that
