I'm preparing to undergo dbs surgery at ku med in January for pd. I'm concerned about the surgery and the after care that will be needed. Any thoughts or advice, welcomed.

Good for you! Our local support group just had a doctor speak on this that does them all the time. I think I will probably do it down the road and will try not to wait too long because then you get the best results. They have gotten very good at it and I have seen vast improvements in people that have done it, plus, unlike medications, the results don't wear off. Just be sure you have some help around your house if you need it and I know there's a lot of follow-up at first making adjustments. But it all sounded worth it to me. Good luck!
