Marathon training after heart attack
I did a little running ten years ago – but dismissed the idea of a marathon due to dodgy knees, ankles and excessive weight and so did more walking and
cycling
touring. GP seems to be supportive and I see my consultant in a couple of weeks.

Technically Week 8 Run 3...
Flat but very slight uphill then downhill so some resistance (you notice this when
cycling
coz you can freewheel back). At this rate maybe I'll get my 35min by the end of week 9?

The husband comes out
cycling
to accompany me whilst I run, so he’s getting fitter too. And even the depression gremlin has been kept at bay.

A very late introduction, and a question.
On a side note it appears I managed to keep most of the fitness probably due to the
cycling
I'd imagine Any tips or advice would be appreciated and I'll try and be a bit more active from now on.

Update to original posting
Sorry I cannot seem to find my original posting so to summarise it I was feeling very dizzy after
cycling
so I went to see my GP and he referred me for blood tests and an ECG.

Heavy legs
I’m now thinking I need to cycle to keep the legs going in between as they maybe seizing up - not much
cycling
but a bit could help. So for my midweek runs, should I struggle through 2 lots of 5-7 miles or just cut right back to a couple of k and hope I recover eventually?

Post lumbar microdiscectomy surgery/recovery
He did say that by December 2019 I could return to the gym if I feel comfortable to use the treadmill for walking,
cycling
on the bikes and yoga on the mats but no more than that.

Advice please?
Still exercise regularly - gym/walking/
cycling
and feel fine if a little exercise-lagged a few hours’ later. Paid to see a consultant specialising in the condition who said I was in generally good nick but suggested an echo-cardiagram ...”but no rush...”. Should I be concerned?

Personal Control of Chronic Pain
Since then I have been managing it with a combination of keeping active with exercise, walking,
cycling
, etc and by learning to pace myself, and trying to avoid, or mitigate, stress and anxiety through thinking more positively and mindfulness and relaxation.

Whole Pelvic IMRT at Mayo or Local?
So I'm 5 10 190 lbs, carry a lot of
cycling
muscle in legs. Waist is 34 inch, extra weight carried in upper body. What do you think about the radiation choices I have. Does the extra radiation to lymph nodes present better PC cell killing, or does the closeness of colon outweigh that?

Exercise: walking and lugging luggage;
cycling
back home from the bus stop (only around a mile and a half). Wishing you all a lovely Sunday and look forward to reading you plans. Over to you.

Thinking about muscle work outs at a gym?
I also feel my legs get all the work (running, swimming, walking,
cycling
) so I would like to work on my arms? But I'm not really sure how or where to begin? I imagine a gym will give advice on that though on initiation?

Week 4 non starter :(
So I'll commit to upper body strength training &
cycling
for a while (
cycling
I can manage, I'm guessing it's the lack of impact). Besides being delayed on the Cto5k program I've also been challenged for most weekly steps on garmin connect...TWICE!

W7R2 tiring should I rest more on non run days?
I’m on hols and have been doing quite a bit of fairly hilly
cycling
on non run days. I was tired after last run so gave myself 2 rest from running days, but still did the
cycling
. Today was OK but I was glad when I got to the end.

I must confess I am
cycling
to work but its still preferable than the train and tube but I am going to crack very soon with the
cycling
. Does everyone else taking it find it this bad? Or do I need to man up? Be honest!

Up and running again.... post achilles pain
After nearly two weeks on injury couch (with a bit of
cycling
, and lots of cleaning to do to keep me fit and busy), I found myself pacing the lounge desparate to get out... so at 10pm I braved the dark (in lovely moon light) and went out with my two bouncy 'guard' dogs (not) and ran a super slow 2km

Not Many of The Classic Symptoms yet it was Bowel Cancer
Despite that I'm
cycling
the best I've done in years and touch wood other than the sore pins and needles in the left hand, the side effects after this 5th cycle are non existent. I would urge anyone to go for that simple blood test, I should have earlier.
