Sorry I cannot seem to find my original posting so to summarise it I was feeling very dizzy after cycling so I went to see my GP and he referred me for blood tests and an ECG.

Well blood tests and these are the receptionists words were " Well three tests were ok but the others showed signs of something but nothing to get you to come into the surgery for " Well thats reassuring isn't it !

Today, why is it formal letters always arrive on the mat on a Saturday morning, I received a letter with an appointment to see a cardiologist in September.

Am I correct to think that if they felt I required urgent treatment they would of given me an earlier appointment or is that actually an early appointment.

Hi I think a lot depends on where you live re appointment waiting time I had a referral In June still nothing but know the list has an 18 week waiting time, please don’t worry call your doctors on Monday and ask for either an appointment or a telephone call

Yes - if they'd seen something they considered imminent or urgent they would have had you in straight-away. They have seen something they want to have a look at sooner rather than later, though, hence the September booking with the cardiologist - usually the booking takes months to achieve. Is the appointment set for early, mid, or late September? The earlier in the month would seem an indication they want to see you soon as, but not as an emergency situation.

To see your posts (so you can update something), click the 'Home' tab at the top left side of the page; then click on 'update my profile' at the right top side of the page, then click on 'view my profile'. Finally you arrive at a page with a centred(ish) header with tabs for all sorts of your activity - the tab that opens when you click 'view my profile' will be your posts, scroll down to find the one you want to update. (Took me weeks to work that out, btw:) )

Thanks Sunnie for both your comments on my appointment and how to retrieve previous posts. The appointment is for the 19th so I assume it's not too urgent.

What's a bit funny over the years I have been to see my GP because I felt I was not as fit as I should be given I run cycle swim on a regular basis and all they have ever done is get me to blow into a breath monitor device and all of them have achieved more than they could so I was fit. Until this incidence none of them troubled to check my heart.

Went out earlier on my bike and have had no I'll effects so I take that as a positive. Thanks again Ted
