My son is 17 and a type 1 diabetic. At bedtime, his sugar level is about 110-140. How much lantus is required?

Just putting a tentative toe in the on line world!
Although I am new to the on line community I was diagnosed as having CLL a bit over nine years ago now, was treated was chlorambucil and then with FCR the following year. I guess I was lucky in that I only needed three courses rather than the usual six for my white cell count to come right down. And

Serevent Confusion
I was prescribed "Serevent" (Salmeterol) to replace the maintreatment of "Tiotrupium" (Spiriva). The dose prescribed was 1 dose daily. It wasn't helping so I switched back to Tiotrupium, however closely reading the GSK Instructions for Salmeterol it clearly states "the normal starting dose is 2 puffs

Some promising news from iwCLL On Richter's Transformation
Hi, One of the most urgent unmet needs in CLL is Richter's Transformation when CLL turns bad and transforms into usually an aggressive diffuse B cell lymphoma. At the iwCLL meeting in Manhattan last May, I had the chance to talk to Dr. John Pagel about the research being done with PD-1 inhibitors for

Peritoneal dialysis
I am new to this site, hello! I am 65 years young, have been on peritoneal dialysis for a year and a half. I chose peritoneal over hemodialysis as I feel more normal and not wiped out after treatment. Getting a good night's sleep has been a challenge, seem to wake up every 2-3 hours. Just had to

Advice
Hi folks - I've just been diagnosed though I think it's been going awhile - I'm 70 living in the wilds of Brittany and am trying to work out a regime which might deal with the problem naturally before I get sucked into pharma world. So far I've settled on raw garlic (just as well I'm on my own !) - milk

FISH test result changed post chemo
My first post! My husband was diagnosed with CLL in 2004. He had 6 rounds of FC and achieved a good remission. In 2010 he relapsed and had FRC again 6 rounds, again a very good remission. He is IVG mutated and FISH test was negative to all deletions. He is now out of remission. Has just had a FISH test

Ibrutinib as frontline??
Hello everyone! Does anyone know why Ibrutinib is only available to CLL patients whose previous treatments have been unsuccessful? It was first made routinely available to leukaemia patients through the NHS in 2016, apparently after years of campaigning by Bloodwise, the cancer research charity. I've

Passive smoking
There has been a lot of discussion on here regarding nicotine etc. I just wanted to say that I am a big believer of 'each to their own'. However, people who smoke cigarettes, and e-cigarettes, rarely keep their smoke to themselves. As a life long NON-smoker with COPD, it does annoy me when people

Update - in case anyone else is in a similar position!
I posted recently that the derm thought I had lichen aureus - well the biopsy results came back and it's granuloma annulare apparently. I've been put on tacrolimus. Wondering if anyone else with hypo has had or tried this? I'll update in a month or so even if no one has, just in case it helps anyone

Are you kidding me??
Hi, I'm from the USA. I was reading the other day about a proposal that would cut the amount of nicotine in tobacco. I smoked all my adult life and it has really cost me....big time. I quit smoking after my diagnosis of Lung cancer in 2011. When I read that they were trying to get the FDA to cut the
