Hello and thanks to all of you who helped me when my mother was in hospital. I thought I'd bring you up to date She was discharged after 12 days, and I went to stay with her because she was so weak, tired and frail. Staying was much easier than the constant trekking the 80 odd miles to & from the

RAI or not? Please need to decide today
I've been thinking about this for a week and today is my deadline, I'm going crazy! Lobectomy October 2015: two tumors in thyroid, biggest was 6,5 cm! One outside thyroid in what appears to be a lymph node but it's actually not. I know weird, it took them a year to decide whether it's a lymph node or

Still in a state of flux
Hi all. I thought after posting a "I feel sorry for myself" message last week, I'd update all you kind people who gave me lots of sympathy and support. My 89 yr old mother is recovering from her colostomy but is still in hospital (40 miles away) because it's healing rather slowly, although she's bright

Fighting & treating PPP - Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma. Help?
Dear sweet community at Health Unlocked, My name is Delia, I'm 24, and almost a month ago my mom, 66, was diagnosed with stage 3 PPC. She's currently at MD Anderson in Houston, being treated by an incredible gyn-oncology team. They've told her the survival rate is 70% and things we've read that told

FIGHTING BACK
I've been called a "warrior" a number of times, but I didn't really feel like one until I began radiation this past Tuesday, March 28. Somehow just taking the hormone therapy didn't seem like actively fighting against the cancer, but now it's different, somehow. Even having my testicles

Sharing good news!
I have just had the results of my recent scans and they are all clear again. Huge relief. I was diagnosed in June 2014 with stage IIIb, adenocarcinoma and have had four rounds of chemo, thirty sessions of radiotherapy and then in June 2015 had a lobectomy. I have had clear scans since then. Long may

Another challenge
To my friends from Malecare and those following me, there have been recent changes, and I haven't been posting anything, because I've had so much fatigue and I have some difficulty in navigating this new site. Now I'm having extreme pain in my prostate, which couldn't be removed because of the involvement

The future and a rant, its one of those days
How do you pick yourself up and carry on when your dreams feel so unachievable? Yesterday I was so happy I was relieved to have answers, this morning it feels like it's a bad dream. How can I be this unlucky? Mother Nature is somewhat of a b!tch, she gave me all these hopes and dreams and then put all

Things I should have asked my specialist
I saw my specialist last Monday who after review of the FNA in Oxford, is recommending a right thyroid lobectomy. I'd already agreed to it as the nodule was uncomfortable and already 3cm big. It's now more uncomfortable, particularly around the top of my chest and a little at the back of my neck and

Ulcerative Colitis
Just thought I would detail what my daughter went through with this condition. Initially incorrectly diagnosed with food poisoning by our GP, we were eventually sent into hospital for checks, and immediately the doctor diagnosed Ulcerative Colitis and kept my daughter in hospital for all the checks.
