staples coming out from the colectomy stump!
I had a colostomy due to CT scan showing holes in my colon and abscesses on the wall behind. I began to have clear fluid leaking from the stump like a running faucet! I told the surgeon about it and he simply shrugged his shoulders and offered no advice. The leaking fluid stopped for a month. Now

Life After Colectomy/Colon Resection Surgery
Hello, Could anyone please share about their experience with a colon resection surgery? Changes in urgency or incontinence or pain? What about eating? Can you eat seeds or nutshell, etc.? How long to heal? Thanks.

Life After Colectomy - Colon Resection
Can anyone tell me realistically their experience after
colectomy
- colon resection surgery? I have been offered a left hemicolectomy and want to know what the true recovery is. Surgeons are minimizing the recovery and say once healed you will probably not notice anything.

Then a Surgeon came in and told me he was going to do a
Colectomy
and get a permanent "bag"-on me and it was major surgery. 1st they told me I had to have a giant tube shoved up my nose and that it would go around the inside of my face? 😳and down into my throat?😳😳 I was not okay w/that.

Just saying hello as a new member
I was just recently diagnosed with MBC in January 2024 but no stranger to breast cancer as I had already had a tangle with (what I was assured was a very low risk) breast cancer back in 2014 and underwent surgery for a lumpectomy and a subsequent regimen of 6 1/2 weeks of m-f radiation. I thought all

Annual transplant program appointment
Yesterday was my annual transplant program check-in. Here are some highlights for those who may be curious what that entails. First up, unfortunately, is the weight and height check. This is one of the two the most dreaded moments for me. I wore the lightest clothes I could find. I've threatened

Another Xray but why ?
Hi all. I haven't been here for quite a long time so I hope that you are all coping and getting all the help and support you need. This forum helped me so much. Unfortunately, I now have multiple problems because of the lung misdiagnosis and because of negligence by our hospital. Another long story

More questions!
My Dr. , eventually, agreed to giving me Buprenorphine and I changed from 12 mcg. Fentanyl patch to a 10 mcg Buprenorphine patch . The first night was good with my leg's feeling a bit strange but not restless and I was slightly, hopeful! Then last night ( the 5th !) my leg's started to get painful

loss of appetite after lobectomy
15 days since my operation. I feel very tired think one reason difficulty sleeping and loss of appetite. Just thought I’d asked if anyone has any tips about how to get my appetite back ? Will it just return ? I’m not doing much exercise other than walking around the house, starting to have a walk around
