Update to lobectomy
Hello everyone Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement recently. I am now 2 weeks post lobectomy and all is going very well. Has been a good straightforward recovery! I now await full results from the hospital telling me more about type of cancer spread etc. That should be in a week

Finally got somewhere although it took almost death!
So following on from my last surgery 4 years ago my problems not only continued, but over time actually worsened! It was IBS! It was ‘constipation’. It was ‘anxiety’ and ‘stress’ and ‘fibromyalgia’. So, I had severe constipation! I had in excess of 20 impactions! I had to manually empty my bowel! As

Post Lobectomy
Hi all, I had a right lower open surgery lobectomy last July and fortunately advised they removed the mass completely and no further treatment required. It was found to be non-small-cell lung cancer – squamous cell carcinoma. I have since had several scans due to chest infections and a cough which does

Lobectomy?
Hello everyone I have a slow growing tumour in my left upper lobe. Going in to hospital on Thursday with op on Friday. They will remove the tumour and analyse whilst I'm still under anaesthetic, if cancerous they will proceed to lobectomy. Am very nervous about this procedure has anyone else been through

Lovenox
I am pretty peed off with this as the last time I had to have twice daily Lovenox after my
colectomy
they made me nauseous and sweaty not to mention the bruised blue stomach. I just hope they let me go back on the Apixaban when I leave hospital.

Have you had surgery for colorectal (bowel) cancer?
Looking to get some advice from those who have been through surgery for one of our members, 6 weeks out from a sigmoid
colectomy
. If you (or a loved one) had surgery for CRC (colorectal cancer) and are willing to give some advice/share the experience, please reply to this post.

Stage 4 central mediastinal mass
After a lobectomy 3 years ago, I now have a stage 4 central mediastinal mass. No reoccurrence in the lung or spread to other organs. I have been told that only palliative treatment is possible and offered (covid permitting) chemotherapy with immunotherapy. Has anyone experience of this cancer?

Lung lobectomy - waiting for lymph node biopsy and feeling anxious
Hi! My mum was found with a ground glass nodule about a year ago and after many scans went in for a VATS wedge section to remove the nodule in November. The nodule was caused by her rheumatoid arthritis but the surgeon noticed some “ dots” around it and “ specks” on her lung so sent it for a biopsy.

Good news - Stage IIIB
Hi all, just wanted to share good news. I have had clear scan results today after being diagnosed with Stage IIIB, non small cell, adenocarcinoma in 2014, aged 43. My prognosis at the time was poor and I was told I was inoperable, terminal and treatable with palliative care. Discussions were around

Has anyone found a colostomy to be the solution to incontinence. I wondered if it made things more controllable ?
I have had worse and worse incontinence since radiotherapy in 1999. A doctor I saw during this time suggested I might need an 'operation'. Should I abandon the proposed rectal prolapse surgery and have a colostomy?

Fluid in opposite lung post Lobectomy
Hi My mum is 4 months post right lung lobectomy, she had an x-ray on Tues which shows this lung is clear - amazing news! However, they said it looks like there's fluid on the left lung, she's to go back in 6 weeks for another x-ray and post that possibly a CT scan, is this a cause for concern?
