Hi, it is so great to have a community to share with. All the ups and downs of this horrible diagnosis! It breaks my heart to see my Mom go through this! She was diagnosed with non-small cell, squamous cell lung cancer. It will be 2 years in May. She had lobectomy, chemo, and then scan showed a mass again. Then sterotactic radiation and more chemo. She was clear for awhile. Then scan in November should another mass. We went to MD Anderson for second opinion. They felt she was not able to have surgery. Had biopsy, showed no cancer cells, but they said they felt they did not get enough cells. She does not have appetite and has lost some weight. So, they advised, as did her oncologist in Cape Coral, FL. To start Opdivo. She will be on her second treatment this week. Praying this will work for her with no side effects. Thank you!

I have been on OPDIVO for one year with no side effects
I hope she has good results. I have been on it for six months. I have NSCLC adrenocarcinoma stage IV. Her first scan may or may not show improvement. It normally takes additional treatments and a second scan before true results can be determined. My second scan showed remarkable decrease in size of nodules and no new growth. I will go for another scan in mid May. I feel great and I believe the scan at that time will show more reduction. Opdivo is a game changer. I pray it works for her.

Thank you! God Bless! My Mom goes to a support group in Fort Myers, led by a 10 year survivor. Very encouraging!
