Waiting times at Oxford Endometriosis Centre?
Hi Ladies, wondering what experiences people have with wait times at the Oxford Endo centre? Referred 4 weeks ago and no communication yet. I was under my local hospital but following my recent MRI , consultant said it was one of the worst he's seen in 16 years of doing his job and too complex for

Travel Insurance after lung surgery
My wife, aged 73 was diagnosed with lung cancer 12 months ago and subsequently underwent a left upper lobectomy. We are now hoping to undertake a cruise to Scandinavia and are seeking travel insurance. Has anybody discovered a travel insurance company who might be able to assist?

Bowel leakage after partner's surgery
Hi guys! My partner has had UC for around a year and a half, very severe, and required surgery for a colostomy bag within a month of diagnosis. He is currently in the process of having it reversed and has just had his second surgery. 1. Is it normal to produce a lot (i mean a lot) of mucus

Not to tight please!
Hello out there! I have lymphedema in my thighs and have been trying to find compression pants that won't put pressure on my abdomen and colostomy. So far I haven't seen anything. Not sure if compression capri pants for pregnant women might be the solution. I cannot tolerate the pressure on my colostomy

Update on Yesterday’s Colonoscopy
The prep was most definitely the worst part: not really the effects of it because I don’t think, after a bad bout of diarrhoea during the early hours of Sunday, there was much to get flushed out; but the prep drink tasted like the winning brew in a demon’s competition. I found it impossible to drink

Bowel and uterus stuck together
I just recently had laparoscopic surgery to have cyst removal and a full hysterectomy. Four years ago I had a colostomy and had it reversed which left me with an enormous amount of scar tissue. I am happy to say that 2 days after surgery I can finally have a successful bowel movement without laxatives

Information Please After Hysterectomy
Hi. I am 62 and went through the menopause many years ago. A few years ago I started bleeding again and was diagnosed with something other than endometriosis. I decided to have a hysterectomy as it was a condition that could have turned cancerous. During the keyhole op the Consultant terminated the op

Post thyroidectomy
Hello, I had my completition thyroidectomy on Monday, but unfortunately had a hematoma after surgery so was taken back into theatre on Monday evening, bleeding stopped and an extra couple of clips placed on the arteries. In comparison to my lobectomy I’m exhausted, and as pictures show extremely bruised

Adenomyosis/Fibroids - which treatment?
So an update following on from my recent Haemoglobin levels crashing and resulting in a blood transfusion... ...Well at 56 and surely close to the menopause I think six years of struggling with horrendous periods is long enough. It seems I have Adenomyosis and two 3cm fibroids. So, I have been

Help with Blue Horizon Thyroid Test Results
I wonder if someone would be able to tell me what my test results mean. In October I had a total thyroid lobectomy to remove a 6cm lump, which was benign. Since having the operation my TSH was 5.46 (range 0.27 to 4.2). I was started on 50mg of levo. Last week, I had a blood test at my consultants

Hello everybody, I’ve just had my date through of the 14th January for my completion thyroidectomy. Just wondering how quickly people managed to get discharged. When I had my lobectomy I was out next day, but the info given to me by the hospital says 2-4 day stay. Hoping I can get home quickly and you
