Hi guys! Just wanted to give you all an update. After 9 months of seeing 2 GPs, 1 ENT specialist, 2 endocrinologists, I finally saw the surgeon last week. 9 months of pain (possibly due to recurrent thyroiditis). Had a biopsy on my nodules and it came back inconclusive and MRI scan showed that my trachea

Anybody Here Have A Lobectomy?
I am a basket case right now. I went for my surgery consult (after many tests) and it is suggested that my upper left lobe be removed, with a 10% chance that he might have to remove my whole left lung. Has anyone had this done? A quick background; two years ago I was diagnosed with stage 2 NSCLC on

I had a full right lung lobectomy in 2007
I was DX with stage 3a NSCLC in October 2007. In November I had my right lu g removed via VATS surgery at NYU in New York. I was fully capable of doing everything I did before and am now heading into year 10 of being cancer free. If you have a great thoracic surgeon you should be fine. I will say that

Potentially a major setback
Hi, My next run is R3 of W9 and I was really excited about it, until today. I have a long term lung condition (not cancer) which doesn't affect me at all - I'm asymptomatic and feel great, but I have been treated with antibiotics for nearly 8 months, and have 3 months of this treatment left. I saw

Surgeon recommending hysterectomy and removal of both ovaries and Fallopian tubes; uterus adhered to bowel
I saw my specialist yesterday and he is suggesting a total hysterectomy and removal of both ovaries and Fallopian tubes - basically the whole lot - given how severe my endometriosis and adenomyosis is. (I had initially thought the good ovary would remain.) I will also need a bowel surgeon on standby

NSCLC STAGE 2a - HAD LOBECTOMY - DOCTORS SAY NO CHEMO NEEDED. IS THIS USUAL? RELIEVED BUT WORRIED TOO.
Hello everyone. I am new to this wonderful site and have a question. I was diagnosed with adrenocarcinoma Stage 2a, N1 , MO about a month ago and was immediately told I was suitable for surgery. After CT/PET they said I would have surgery with Adjuvant chemotherapy with "curative intent" .They thought

Some good news
Hello All I have lumps in my belly button that hurt cyclically. I have also recently found out my uterus is "bulky" and I have a possible fibroid. I went to my nearest Endo Specialist Centre in Kent and the Dr there was lovely. I was listened to and he listened to me - after my bad experience with

2 Months since partial thyroid lobectomy.
Hello, I just wanted to post my latest blood results and get some feedback. I have a feeling that the labs drawn by my ENT are not accurate. Here is the timeline of my lab results. On 9/2/16 TSH = 0.958 uIU/mL (0.450-4.500) T4 = 8.3 ug/dL (4.5-12.0) FT4 = 1.27 ng/dL (0.82-1.77) FT3 = 3.2 pg/mL

How do you know where is the best cancer center to treat you?
I have both NSCLC and SCLC my doc said it's very rare to have both type. That there is not much data on diagnosed. I had a right lower lobectomy 7-12-16 . Currently doing chemo in my 3rd session right now, 1 more to go and then they want to to do radiation of the brain. I want to get a second opinion

Endo on the Bowls
Hi all. I've just been told I have endometriosis on my bowl which isn't a surprise and had already been discussed. The consultant has referered me to a consultant who deals with the bowl( sorry can't think what they called😌) to have a endoscopic scan. They have told me it will be some time as there

Strange blood levels...
As many of you know, I recently had a lobectomy, 6 weeks ago. Well yesterday I had my thyroid levels checked and they were as follows: I had a protein shake 3 hours prior, but nothing else for 10 hours prior. I didn't know my PCD was going to run labs. TSH .765 (.5-4.5) FT3 3.2 (2.0-4.4) FT4 1.07 (.82

Hello....I am new to this and am hoping you could answer a question or two I have. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Nov 2002, emerg surgeries, ileostomy, spending a great deal of my life in the hospital or home hooked up to things just to end up going back from infection, eventually attempted resection

Test result interpretation please
Hi, I had my right lobe and isthmus removed in March due to an inconclusive FNA on a 4cm nodule . It was decided that the nodule was caused by Hashimotos, altho I wasn't particularly aware of any symptoms ( I thought they were menopausal). My post lobectomy TSH level was within range but my blood test
