I have an upcoming operation in February to have endo removed from my bowel which could result in me having a colostomy bag, how am I expected to work when I

How to support my partner after colostomy surgery?
Hi, I would like some advice. My partner is having surgery after Christmas to remove his large bowel and will have a stoma after the surgery. I know it is a big adjustment mentally and physically. I would like to know how best to support him after the surgery. Thank you for any advice you can give :)

New here -boyfriend had ileostomy 10 weeks ago
Following a flare up of UC (5 years in remission no problems) my boyfriend had an emergency subtotal
colectomy
and now has an ileostomy. Hadn't had any build up or preparation for this op so all a big shock.

Sharing good news - stage IIIB NSCLC
I thought I would share some good news. My recent scans (MRI & CT) came back all clear! I was diagnosed June 2014 with stage IIIB NSCLC and have had chemo, radiotherapy and then had a lobectomy in June 2015. I have had no treatment since the surgery and my scans have remained all clear since then

Second primary colon cancer
November 28th will be the 2nd anniversary of having survived a second primary colon cancer diagnosis and subsequent subtotal
colectomy
. I would like to connect with people who had the same experience and share how they dealt with the permanently loose bowels and how they adjusted their diets.

Bowel & Endo problems
So just had my lap op & that took 8 months. Now it's so severe/deep surgeon has to refer me to specialist . The words stoma bag / bowel resection were mentioned. Have to have another MRI of my stomach! They put in the mirena coil but it seems to have already spread to my right ovary as well. Hysterectomy

Post lobectomy.
It has been almost 25 months since my lobectomy. The COPD seems to be getting worse. Thankfully I have been tobacco free for over seven years. The weight is slowly coming off. I am just wondering, since this isn't the first place for me to get cancer, how probable is it that cancer will rear it's ugly

STAGING QUESTING -Should my group staging be changed again - might make me feel better a bit at least - but a,genuine question too for hope
I was originally graded as T2a, N1, N0. Pre my left lower lobectomany in September. THey said the approach would be "radical" They suspected 2-3 lymph nodes were affected and as well as the lower left lobectomy , they ,with another 14-15 other sites were removed and all found to be clear - great news

Hello I had a right lobectomy 20 years ago after some nodules were diagnosed I had one follow up with the surgeon and asked whether or not I needed medication and was told " no - that lobe wasn't working anyway, so your hormone levels won't be affected" I thought this rather odd - but accepted what

My experience 48 hours post full thyroidectomy
Hi guys! I had surgery on Thursday afternoon (2 days ago) and I am pleased to say that everything went well and the care I received from doctors, nurses, HCAs to student nurses were faultless. I was asked to come to the Day Care Unit at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford at noon for an afternoon operation
