Ckd 2 and Amlodipine
I've read there have been some evidence of
calcium
blockers contributing to progression. I'm checking sources with conflicting views. Any input from the group? Thanks for your time!

Blood pressure medication
Sorry to bother people I am suffering from bad brain fog (or maybe just stupidity ) but I need to go back on medication for high blood pressure and all I can recall is that
calcium
channel blockers are not suitable but cannot remember which tablets are OK.

Really interesting podcast explaining osteoporosis and about diet and exercise to avoid it by Prof Tim Spector and Prof Cyrus Cooper
Controversially it also puts the cat amongst the pidgeons by saying taking
calcium
supplements is pointless, they used to recommend them but research doesn't now back that up. But these two are world-leading bone experts not quacks - so where does that leave us?

Coronary calcium channel score
Is statin prescribing linked to Coronary
Calcium
score? In late 60's my recent Angiogram was fine but had a CCS score of 25. From what I've read, Statins do not eliminate existing plaque, but stop it getting worse.

Hi, this is my story
and prescribed Alendronic Acid and
Calcium
+Vit D. I researched the condition and discovered that Vitamin K plays an important role in bone health as it is responsible for converting the bone protein osteocalcin from its inactive form to its active form.

parathyroid specialists contd
I understand that low
calcium
is a typical symptom of parathyroid being damaged .I am taking
calcium
supplements and alfacalcidol - a form of Vit d enzyme to help with
calcium
absorption but really would like to stop both because of side effects: extremely dry/sore mouth at night .

liver enzymes elevated after Urso brand change.
And ironically the other change at the time was that I stopped drinking…oh and I also started on
Calcium

Levothyroxine and calcium
I have now seen that I'm not supposed to have
calcium
for at least 4 hours after taking the meds and just wondering what people do in regards to this as I work shifts earliest starting at 7.30am, it is going to be very difficult not to eat breakfast!

Sorry I know it’s a beta blocker but that’s
calcium
. I’m currently on other medication and I’m checking if they are working against each other or in unison.

By the way, I take plant based
calcium

My urine
calcium
is also low. I keep getting intermittent joint paint mostly in my wrists and wondered if I need a dexa scan and if GPs can send me for one without waiting to see the consultant please? Many thanks.
