Good Morning:

Having trouble when I go to the dentist. My teeth are breaking off easily. Just realized it’s probably due to poor nutrition.i lost right good amount of weight and with so many pills and even vitamins and lots of water I drink, not usually hungry. Suggestions to start improving this deficit is appreciated. (And yes I know I must eat better). By the way, I take plant based calcium, vitamin D, C, a multivitamin, B12, melatonin. Also my Parkinson’s meds are Rytary and amantadine, which I just started. Have been diagnosed 24 years ago. Thanks for your kind input!

My brother WP has really poor teeth so I started doing some research. The calcium you take and the D3 really needs VitK2 inorder for it to get absorbed into the bone and not into the brain or kidneys. He now takes a product called Litholexal for bone health. litholexal.co.uk/ he was prescribed calcium by the doctor but it was years before we realised the he should have been taking vit K2.

Thank oneworld23! Will definitely look into it. I brought k2 uup to my dr. He said it was such a small amount in my supplement it wouldn’t do much so I quit.

Sounds to me as if your diet is pretty good. As long as you're getting enough protein, I think you should look elsewhere regarding your teeth. Personally I try to adhere to a MIND diet.

I think when teeth start going like that, it is possibly a blood flow problem. Try to identify any possible reason for this, such as history of smoking, diabetes, things like that. My first stop would be an experienced dentist. I would also ditch the soft bristle brush that dentisits usually recommend and get a medium bristle, and brush your gums vigorously to stimulate circulation there and improve the overall health of your gums. Good luck, friend!
