Unstable 7 months after TT
I know I have posted before with my ongoing problems but my latest blood results are in and I continue to have problems. My Consultant is less than useless although GP most helpful. I have now resorted to a private Endo who comes well recommended whom I hope will help soon. The main issue is the constant

Night Terrors
I have C-PTSD. I think I am damaging myself in my dreams. I wake with bruises that look like fingerprints, all unanswered. I talk in my sleep constantly waking my non-abusive boyfriend. I have tried melatonin and herbal teas, but still wake at 3, many times with unaccounted bruises...have you had this

Breast cancer/migraines
Hi, that's interesting, might try the melatonin. I had breast cancer 5 years ago & started getting migraines 1 1/2 years in to taking the post cancer med tamoxifen. I stopped taking it after a while but am still trying to get rid of the migraines, which have been diagnosed as hormone related. I reckon

Melatonin vs amitriptylene
I've been on amitriptylene for 20 years, mostly at the 25 mg dose. Last year I had breast cancer and during the entire chemo, then surgery, then radiation phase (about 9 months) I did not have one migraine. Two weeks after this was all done, I began experiencing migraines about every 2-3 days for at

Back from holidays, a great break for Jaida.
Before leaving for holidays Jaida was having a very difficult time with 4 migraines a week, loosing weight & hitting rock bottom. Her poor little mind just couldn't cope with her body & head pain, she ended up clinically depressed. It was a scary time, cooking her favourite food, her eating a mouthful

Adrenal/melotonin saliva test
So I have had my next set of bloods done and waiting on results (TFTs/FT3/Vit D/ B12 etc). The next step is adrenal/ melotonin. Problem is I don't go to bed til 2 am and wake up at 10.30 am ish. So what does that mean in terms of results and so on. In fact I have to take my melatonin test between 2.30

Advice please: Adrenal Fatigue - I am getting nowhere! Please what are the treatment options as followed by other fellow contributors.
I am currently being treated for adrenal fatigue and have been following a course of treatment for over a month and I feel I am only getting worse by the day. I am very confused and very low about the total lack of progress I am making. I am an ex-patient of Dr. Skinner and am now under a new doctor

In there anyone out there who has managed to sort out sleep problems by balancing thyroid/hormone issues?
I believe that my sleep problems are related to my thyroid issues. Although I was only diagnosed about 18 months ago (Hashimoto’s), I have been having symptoms for years. My sleep "went funny" back in 2007. I notice that the sleep seems also to be affected by hormonal fluctuations. I have just turned

Long list of meds :( Will they cause problems with saliva and TFT blood tests?
Hello again, sorry I asked this question a week ago and now I am on more meds as I have a chest infection on top of the hayfever. Lucky me! :( Just wondered if they would cause any problems with blood test results and adrenal/ melatonin saliva test and when should i stop taking them before the tests

Clocks for all seasons: unwinding the roles of circadian and interval timers in the pituitary
After the recent chronotherapy threads and other discussion about circadian rhythms, etc., this paper appears to be of some interest. I can't pretend to have read it yet! :-) [i]J Endocrinol. 2014 Jun 2. pii: JOE-14-0141. [Epub ahead of print]

Melatonin - seems like a miracle cure, but is it?
I've got shot adrenals glands, low cortisol all day, and when I'm in a crash, as I am at the moment, I sleep terribly. I've had some melatonin for ages, and tried about 1mg the other night. I slept like a baby and felt great the next day, no fatigue or aches and pains. I didn't take it last night and

Question about sleep
For those that can't sleep due to anxiety, what do you do or use to get some sleep? I have tried melatonin, over the counter sleep aids to no avail. The only thing that seems to help for me is Ativan. I really, really don't want to use this on a regular basis. The weird thing is that many times I'm

RLS seems to be worst when light is low in the evenings, at cinema, in bed etc.
This might be wrong but also it might help someone so here goes... As I understand it, RLS is linked with low levels of dopamine, and dopamine levels fall as melatonin levels rise when light levels are low (in the evening or the cinema etc). I ...

Has anyone tried Melatonin?
A fairly recent (2013) piece of research found that 10mg of melatonin a day taken at bedtime could help some women with endo by reducing pain and lesions. The results aren't groundbreaking as it seems only about 40% of women tested reported good results but that's good enough to make me give it a try

profuse sweating.....
I am writing this for my mother in law to which is the sole carer of her husband with PSP. As many of you no it is hard to get time to yourself. She has not been satisfied with any help from anyone on this. He is sweating extremely a lot at night she may have to change bedding 1-2 times in the middle
