I've been taking 2.5mg Melatonin for 2 years to help me sleep, it works very well. I have Hashimoto's which was diagnosed 13 years ago.
Does anyone know if melatonin interferes with T3/T4 absorption? I seem to remember reading that melatonin should not be taken in cases of auto-immune disorders. Also I've just been diagnosed with Osteoporosis(often a side affect of taking Thyroxine) but can T3 cause it as well as T4? My endocrinologist

I use a product "Asphasia" from time to time to help with sleep, I understand this contains a small amount of melatonin - 0.3mcg.
Does anyone know if this affects thyroid. or the taking of levo.?

Sleep
So for a couple months now I have not gotten a good nights sleep. I've tried lunesta and melatonin but I'm still awake at night. Having bechets I do rest a lot but I also do as much as I can when I can physically do so. Anyway do any of you have a good way to get a good nights sleep?

The Final Piece of the jigsaw!
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2010 when although I had all the symptoms of severe myxoedema my blood tests were pronounced normal. My health got worse, I lost my job as a result and ended up housebound. It hurt to breathe and sometimes I couldn't find the energy to hold my head up! I decided

My life is a complete nightmare
I've always been a worrier. It got so much worse at the moment when my parents passed away when I was just 17 yo. When something is out of control I panic so much that I can't function properly, I can;t breathe and start shaking. I don't sleep nor eat, I can't concentrate on anything else. I'm scared

What Meds Are You On
Hi I hope no one minds my asking, I am seeing my GP today to ask about changing/trying out some new meds. I currently take Zoromorph slow release morphine twice a day, Sevredol 10mg morphine 4 hourly (if I am desperate), melatonin tablets to help with sleep and Diazepam for anxiety/panic attacks.

'Foetal Programming - An underlying cause of metabolic disease, thyroid disease, hypertension and the related complex of health problems rep
Hi Guys. This long bloggish piece (what’s new ? ) is to float the topic of foetal programming, share some information and encourage some feedback. Bear in my mind that I’m not medical – this is an ad-hoc summary of what I seem to have picked up. It may or may not be news to some of you, but it certainly

Does anyone have trouble with getting medical professionals to take you seriously when you report side effects of AEDs?
My son is suffering side effects from Keppra (aggression, anger, unable to sleep, emotional all the time, depressed). They've prescribed Melatonin to help him sleep and this does take a slight edge off the other side effects but not completely. I've asked for him to be taken off Keppra but have to

red listed drugs
Hi all, Having been diagnosed with CFS/Fibro just over a couple of months I did a bit of research and have chatted to others about recommendations ... One thing that came up was melatonin - Circadan on prescription. However, my GP informs me that this is red-listed in my area and therefore unavailable

What medication,(if any) do you take for sleep
Hi I am now taking melatonin 3mg, it helps me get to sleep but not to stay asleep which has always been my biggest problem. I did take amitriptyline for a long time but eventually the side-effects became too problematic. What do you take and does it work and what side-effects have you experienced?

Beating Sleep Problems
Hi all, I'm a three and a half year breast cancer survivor and long-time health writer. I started this blog after I got the little 'c.". I'll post my articles here from time to time. Here's one I hope will help - I know many of us struggle with sleep problems. We need sleep to regenerate—it’s
