Hi there **If the following doesn't make sense, please let me know** Feeling poorly for a while. I posted a while ago about a muscle spasm within my hand, which turned out to be a swan-neck deformity but have experienced subsequent hand spasms, weakness, tremors, eye to hand coordination is off,

Hello
Just got back out of the psychiatric hospital for the 3rd time in 2 years. Take 4mg ropinorole at night. Had RLS since the age of 12, I am 46. I am new to this forum but have been a member of the old Nightwalker board in the early 2000's . Don't know if still exists. Weaning down again, but doing

Side effects of B12 injections
Hi. I had loading doses of B12 about 10 years ago after several years of fatigue and neuro symptoms. I felt amazing afterwards and when I went onto 3 monthly injections I found that my symptoms would come back long before my next injection was due so I started self injecting. I found I needed it once

Expiration date
After reading about the (supposed?) shortage of B12 in UK, I, too, am wondering if PanPharma’s shortened expiration date from 2 years to one year has contributed to this perceived shortage. Have we gotten the final answer on why PanPharma shortened their expiry date? Does anyone know if the inactive

Can anyone recommend a good private pernicious anemia doctor anywhere in Scotland? Two NHS GPs ignored my symptoms they don't listen
Hello, I am desperately looking for a doctor who is competent about vitamin B12 deficiency and/or pernicious anemia. I am positive to gastric parietal cell antibodies, my B12 levels are 444 (should be between 200-883) so nobody takes me seriously because it's not low. GPs won't even consider injections

ALC is still going up
Well, today I had another CBC. My ALC continues to go up consistently at each 2 week check and I will be seeing my onco at the beginning of Feb. In addition to the rising alc, test shows a few other little changes that i don't fully understand -- my MCV is now reading high (99.50) and my MCHC is low

Brain iron vs Blood iron
Has anyone read that in RLS patients brain iron can be lower than indicated by blood measurements? I read a study out of Quebec about the gene we carry causing a malformation in the brain that makes it harder to uptake the iron.... So blood levels are not accurate in showing brain anemia. My RLS totally

Vit B and Ferritin levels
So had my FBC, Vit B and "iron" tests yesterday. Turns out they only tested Ferritin for iron, but I've got a full anaemia panel with MMH to complete this morning for a full picture. Now to play the waiting game and see what the GP decides to tell me 🙄 Edit: had a text from my surgery to let me know

Getting older with ss
I'm in my 40's now and I have fewer pain crisis then I had when I was younger. You'd think things would get easier because of this but it isn't. Now I'm dealing with a lot of health problems that sickle cell caused or exacerbated. Like heart problems (which I take meds for), a bad hip (which I had replaced

Which Covid booster should I be given? (Ended up being rushed into hospital 2 1/2 hours after last Pfizer one as I couldn't walk)
I am diabetic type 2, asthmatic, suffer Uti's , and a distended stomach and been in hospital 4 times in the last year with suspected heart problems and had heart monitor implanted, so most concerned about Covid booster. Have written to surgery but no reply as yet. Is there more than 1 booster

Slightly raised ferritin, any advice please
Iron 31.0 (5.8-34.5)TIBC 51.3 (45-81) UIBC 20.6 (24.2-70.1) Transferring saturation 60.6 (20-50) Ferritin 203 (13-150) Crp 4.15 (0-5) Can I ask your advice please? As advised on here a few months ago I rechecked my iron levels in December, hoping to have some reason for continuing ectopic heartbeats.

Help with iron panel results please
Hi, I had an iron panel done in July following years of trying to get iron levels up with Ferrous Fumarate, without any luck. Results attached. On consultation with my GP we agreed for me to try a Mirena coil. However leading up to the date for inserting this I freaked about the actual procedure and

High Dose Niacin (Nicotinic Acid) and Hashimoto's?
Update 01/22/2023: I just learned there is an increased risk of diabetes on niacin therapy: https://heart.bmj.com/content/102/3/198 This study was based on people taking Niacin for cardiovascular reasons, which I think would be dosed at 500 to 6000 mg a day: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements
