Confusing Blood Work/ Searching for Advice
Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me. I’m 27 and I have been battling many symptoms since I was about 18 years old. Most of my symptoms have been psychiatric (OCD, anxiety, phobia) but I have also had unexplainable skin rashes on my knuckles and elbows that spontaneously happen, a fainting episode, constipation

Taking B supplements when already on B12 injections
Just wanted to ask about supplements. I have just ordered some igennus super b complex, as I didn't realise you could get folate in tablet form, which is in this supplement. I have tried to take the Folic acid capsules and I can't digest them very well and they upset my stomach. I will only take one

Vit B12 and Folate reference ranges
The reference ranges of my local hospital’s lab for Vit B12 is 197 to 711 ng/L and for Folate 1.9 to 25 ug/L. Is this typical? Is Vit B12 deficiency defined as having a reading between 0 to 196 and Folate deficiency 0 to 1.8? I would be interested in hearing what readings others had before they moved

Recommended dose of Vitamin D3
Vitamin D I see in the discussion on Vitamin D many people seem to be taking massive doses. The recommended dose of D3 which I take together with calcium is 800 iu, which I believe is what the government is issuing. Mine is already prescribed I don’t have the link handy, but too much is shown to be

Levothyroxine sodium – Anhydrous vs. Pentahydrate

[i]If you read about levothyroxine, especially as a medicine, you will see mention of two forms used as the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) in levothyroxine medicines: levothyroxine sodium (anhydrous) and levothyroxine sodium

Help with B12 and folate levels
I have a history of anaemia, low vit D and low B12 (i take igennus super B complex). I went down the route of exploring whether I had pernicious anaemia because I have a high MCH and b12 levels at the lower end. Ive been on high strength B12 supplements since April 2020. Now, what is weird is that my

May I have some help with these blood test results please. I can see that they’re mostly too low but your interpretation is invaluable
Free T3 4.7 (3.5 - 6.5) TSH 1.62 (0.35 - 5.5) Free T4 14.8 (10.5 - 21.0) Ferritin 68.9 (22 - 322) Iron 15.7 (14 -31.3) Transferrin 3.67 a tad above range (2.15 - 3.65) Iron saturation 19% (16 - 50) Folate 14.93 (> 5.38) whatever that means! I get very muddled about ferritin, iron/saturation and transferrin

Anaemic
Hello all, Just had my 6 monthly W&W appointment. My WBC has gone down from 180 to 148 and haemoglobin has gone down from 116 to 97 making me anaemic. I am to have more in-depth bloods done and see specialist again in 6 weeks. Should I be worried? Does anyone else have experience of white cells going

Hair Loss - Ferritin Results
Help!!!! I've recently had blood tests to try and get to the bottom of my ongoing hair loss. My results have come back this morning and my ferritin levels are 24ng/ml (15-150) and I'm convinced this is the problem but my doctor is really unhelpful. He said that as my iron levels are ok he wouldn't advise

Abnormal iron results
Hello, can anyone let me know if abnormal iron results are a Hashi's thing? They've been like this for a couple of years now (tests all done privately) but NHS haven't ever tested for it. Is it worth pursuing with the GP or just leave it alone. I don't take any iron supplements so I don't really

Does a lack of intrinsic factor prevent iron absorption?
Does a lack of intrinsic factor prevent the absorption of iron too or is it simply B12? If so what would be the best way to get iron into the body and does anyone know of any decent iron supplements that are readily absorbed? Thank you all for any help

Blood test results
Please see test results below. These are from late November. Had some family issues with illness and a new grandson so bit late posting. The only test flagged up was high iron. Spoke to my dr about it and she said when she tested it was 120.00. I originally posted about pins and needles in my hands
