Anyone know anything about ferritin and trans ferritin saturation levels?
OK so I got some results back re iron and B12 and would so appreciate some expert understanding from anyone of you. I believe I might have lowish ferritin. It's 39ug but my transferritin saturation is 52%, which is high. How do I increase my iron levels if I need to, with high transferritin saturation

I’m in a complete mess. In 2011 I was diagnosed with vitamin B12 deficiency, my level was 154 and I also had vitamin D deficiency and iron deficiency at the same time. I was given loading doses of B12 and felt so much better and then went onto 3 monthly injections. I found that towards the end of the

Prolia Injections?
Hello all you lovely people! After 6 years on pred (currently on 10 mgs) my bones have objected (I had osteopenia even before I started). I am now officially osteoporic. My doctor wants me to start Prolia injections after a visit to the dentist. What are people's experiences of these in terms of

Help with iron results - follow up from 3 arrows nutra
Hi everyone, I did an iron panel and I’m quite amazed with my ferritin level. I have been lax with my iron supps since going to T3 only and thought I would definitely have ranked my previously low results. To my disbelief, my ferritin is the highest I’ve ever seen it! I was previously taking the 3 arrows

Here we go again!
Many of you may recall that I have suffered terribly with restless legs and arms for decades and that I FINALLY got some relief when I was prescribed Ferrous Fumarate for constantly low iron levels. Although the nightly RLS is still under control, in the past 2 weeks I have actually woken up in the

My body did not get the memo.
I accept that a test had been done measuring the amount of Hydroxocobalamin and Cynocabalamin that can be measured in the urine at different times after the injection and that the numbers are likely repeatable. I do not know if any testing was done on a subject that was B12 deficient. I find it unlikely

Tinnatus
I see many people discussing the blood disorder aspect of Pernicious Anaemia but as yet have not seen many people who talk about the other problems it can cause! I have had, since being diagnosed with PA, terrible tinnatus. At times I can imagine someone wanting to exit the planet because it can really

Milestones.
Seems to me that my milestones associated with my cobalamin issues tend to be known to me only in hindsight. I thought about it and came to understand that is the way most milestones actually happen and it is only in hindsight and my narrative of the past that milestones become apparent. I need to

cervical stenosis
I have cervical stenosis myelopathy c3 to c7 which seems to have stayed the same for a number of years, has anyone else had this, although the weakness in my right arm isn’t pleasant and the heavy pins and needles are awful I don’t feel that the risk in surgery is worth it.

Having Rotator cuff repair tomorrow, and Moh's surgery next week.
Hi, Well, I made through the past week without aspirin and my anti-inflammatories, which I sorely missed, so that tomorrow they can fix my rotator cuff. Then next week, while I'm already out on leave, the basal cell cancer on my nose gets its turn. Hopefully, things go well, so please wish me luck

iron tests
I’ve been booked in for an iron studies test for next week as I was worried about my ferritin of 48 I had done last week. I’m concerned after reading with high thyroid auto antibodies which I’ve just found out I have, my ferritin should be over 100. My doctor booked me in for 11.25 am next weds and said

B12 Injections stopped as I do not meet crtieria.
Good morning I now have information to identify that; 1) the practice updated their process in November 2022 to " ensure only patients with P.A. receive B12 injections. 2) Blood tests in 2018 show low B12, but Intrinsic factor and celliac screen were negative. 3) GP Practice direct me to take

retraction of diagnosis for PA and uncertainty over what to do about it
Was 20 when i was diagnosed by a blood specialist (haematologist?) with pernicious anaemia. got the intrinsic factor test and all before starting treatment, and the specialist said it was congenital. prior to the diagnosis, i was experiencing quite some brain fog, depression, lost weight, and of course
