From oxy to buprenorphine
I had my iron levels tested and all is good, not a candidate for infusion. Dr. Buchfuhrer suggested I switch from oxycodone to buprenorphine and tonight I did. Was nervous to go off of Oxy as it worked, but I noticed it was wearing off earlier and earlier. At 5 mg three times a day, I didn’t want

Help with results please
Hello, Just trying to work out if thyroid looks ok please and doesn't need any further investigation? I know I'm iron deficient with a low ferritin level but have been supplementing for 8 weeks now and have got up from 8 ug/L to 31 ug/L and am no longer anaemic either as Hb has raised a little too

Another cause of Pernicious Anaemia?
We know that certain gastric operations cause Pernicious Anaemia and therefore lifelong b12 injections are required . But what I’ve never seen mentioned is the possibility of radiotherapy cancer treatment in the region of the stomach that contains the parietal cells , causing Pernicious Anaemia . Surely

PA and oral B12 supplements
I have recently been diagnosed with PA and I’ve had an initial booster course of 6x B12 injections with a plan for 3 monthly injections for life (based, I understand, on local UK NHS protocols, or how my GP has interpreted them). I was therefore wondering if there is any benefit in taking oral B12

B12 help
Following on from previous post I have an under active thyroid (Hashimoto’s) and my bloods from October 2021 was MCH 32.8 (27-32) and B12 was 379 (197-771). I read online the MCH this high was macrocytic anaemia but my endo didn’t tell me that. I have been supplementing B complex and sometimes B12

Self Injecting Query
I posted earlier about my health problems over the past two years. I saw an old post that said if you have Neuro symptoms then you should get loading doses then a jab every 2 months. This is my NHS regime currently. I've had jabs for about 10 years, was on 3 monthly and was changed to two monthly. "

B12 injections stopped by gp after 5 years treatment on nhs
I was diagnosed with chronic b12 deficiency years ago - my GP started giving me injections every 3 months and my nurse told me that it was for life. I’ve always eaten meat my whole life - so my deficiency was not caused by diet. They have stated that my deficiency is due to malabsorption, but my intrinsic

Supplimenting Vit B12 and Folate - how much?
Hello,My recent blood test shows: Ferritin 107ug/l (30-250) B12 377ng/l (200-900) Folate 4.7ug/l (3-20.50) (they forgot to test for Thyroid, so I have got to book in again for that...) I have checked previous messages and think that my Folate is low and B12 could be improved. There are supplements

Help with next appointment following loading doses
Following a B12 of 194ng/L (187 - 883) in August, in Sept it was 208. MMA and Folate both “normal” but Homocysteine was slightly above range so I have been given 6 loading doses and daily Folic Acid. (I don’t have the actual results other than the B12). I didn’t have any really noticeable response

early pregnancy -Hydroxy33
Anybody know if I can inject Hevert 2 ml depot B12 from Germany in early pregnancy? I'm in the USA and the cyanocobalamin injection is the only one I could get otherwise. It has benzyl alcohol etc. here. So, B 12 is not everywhere the same. I just want to make sure I'm injecting the right amount every

GP visit!
So I went to see my GP yesterday and discussed my symptoms, and asked about B12 injections. Got the same old story - test within range, symptoms aren’t bad enough, try oral B12 for three months, despite my explaining that I have low stomach acid and problems with malabsorption, which she again dismissed

Iron Infusions
Hi all, just wondering if anyone in this group has ever had an iron infusion? When I was first diagnosed with my B12 deficiency, they also found that my vitamin D was deficient and my iron was only just in normal. Vitamin D is now fine on the daily tablets, but I've been struggling for about 18 months

Just need some advice on self injecting.
Just need to come up with a safe plan for what to do about my B12 injections. After several years of symptoms like chronic fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, pins and needles, sore lips, dry skin, breathlessness etc I was finally diagnosed with a B12 deficiency in 2011. My B12 level was 154. By this
