I posted earlier about my health problems over the past two years. I saw an old post that said if you have Neuro symptoms then you should get loading doses then a jab every 2 months. This is my NHS regime currently. I've had jabs for about 10 years, was on 3 monthly and was changed to two monthly.
"tingling, numbness, pins and needles, burning sensations, insect crawling sensation, tinnitus, muscle twitches, muscle fasciculations, flickering eyelids, restless legs syndrome RLS, vertigo, clumsiness, migraine, dropping things, bumping into things, strange gait (unusual way of walking), word finding problems, balance issues, brainfog, proprioception problems (problems with awareness of body in space) etc? "
I have most of these apart from trouble with words and tinnitus. I'm wondering if self injecting might allow me to see if B12 is my issue? Any advice please.

Yes , do have more regular injections. We are all different. We know that B12 cannot be overdosed , so no worries on that account . You coukd try monthly first and see if that sees off the symptoms that you describe .
Or you could do it the other way round and inject weekly and if that works extend the period to 2 weeks and so on till you find the tight regularity that keeps those symptoms at bay .
I will send you a list of online German pharmacies which will deliver B12 depot ( hydroxocobalamin) ampoulesto the U.K.
Here is the information you need if you wish to start self -injecting.
The following reliable German online Pharmacies (all registered with the German Health Authorities ) will deliver VitaminB12 Depot ( Hydroxocobalamin)single use ampoules to the U.K.
vesandapo.de( in Leipzig) Site is in German . Use Google Chrome for translation . This is usually the best value pharmacy. U.K. is “Vereinigtes Königreich”
Courier cost €9.99
apohealth.de ( in Munich) Site available in English . (Union flag , bottom left on my device .)
Courier cost €20.00 for 10 packets . Lower cost for fewer packets .
apotheke-marienbrunn.de( in Leipzig) Use Google Chrome for translation . Also deliver to Australia , New Zealand and USA . Drop-down country list is in German and U.K. is called
“Vereinigtes Königreich Großbritannien und Nordirl”
fixmedika.de obtainable in English ( but delivery costs €45.00 !!!!!!) PayPal or Bank transfer
First of all register with the pharmacy .
When filling out the address form, you will see that the country is already filled out with Deutschland / Germany .You must first change that to your own country by using the drop-down list to — U.K., United Kingdom , Vereinigtes Königreich, Grossbrittanien . — however it is expressed.Do this so that your post-code and the rest of your address is accepted . Otherwise, you will be unable to order , and you will be tearing your hair out
amazon.de also sell Pascoe and Hevert . But depending on the supplying pharmacy, may or may not supply to the U.K. You can’t use the Pharmaceutical reference numbers to order from amazon.de . You must use the brand names .
The following brands are usually available.
PANPHARMA ( formerly Rotexmedica)
1mg x 1 ml ampoules b12 DEPOT ( Hydrocobalamin)
Packet of 10
Pharmaceutical reference number 16199653
Most popular ampoule . Good value , but often out of stock .
PASCOE b12 DEPOT packet of 10 —1.5mg x 1ml ampoules
Reference no. 07568672
Packets of 10 x 10 ( 100 ampoules ) Reference no.07568695
The Pascoe are much cheaper per packet if you buy the offer of 10 packets . If you inject weekly or more frequently, you will be covered . Otherwise , some ampoules may become out of date .
HEVERT B12 DEPOT 1mg x 2ml ampoules 1 packet of 10 reference no. 06078368
Use the Pharmaceutical Reference numbers to order from the pharmacies, it’s easier , but not if buying from amazon.de
The above brands also produce Cynocobalamin B12 single use ampoules. They are cheaper than Hydroxocobalamin., but reputed not to stay in the system as long. Fine to use as long as the patient does not suffer from the rare eye-condition called LEBERS. Cynocobalamin is widely used in the USA I do not have the Pharmaceutical reference numbers for the Cynocobalamin ampoules.. Cynocobalamin is referred to as vitamin B12. Hydroxocobalamin is referred to as vitamin B12 depot.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING .
Now that the U.K. has left the EU , there is a limit to the value of goods that we can order before tax is due .Tax is applicable if the value exceeds £135.00 ( roughly €158.00 at todays rates — look it up to make sure ) Value does include delivery cost ! On top of that , Royal Mail charges £8.00 for handling.
I’m not sure how much the tax is , so please look it up .A member was quite shocked at what she had to pay when she exceeded the limit . YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Hello, i have perypheral neuropathy with all neuro symptoms and i do self injections two times a week for more than 8 years. Be happy and good luck ! Believe in B12 !!
I found that, despite being much more expensive, Amazon.de was the best choice. Once you've set up an account (I already had a UK account that made it simpler) re-ordering is no problem, you just go on site and 'buy again'. Stick to 3 or 4 packs at a time so as to avoid the tax trap.
The only problem with Amazon.de is that they do not have our favourite B12 depot ampoule — namely Panpharma B12 depot . They have Pascoe and Hevert . They used to have Rotexmedica , but since the takeover by Panpharma and the change of name , they do not stock it .
Yes, I stick with Pascoe 1500 microgram ampoules. Service is quick, convenient, if pricey, but they've never let me down. On top of that, I always get a long date. Others always near expiry, then supply dries up and I'm left with out-of-date stock. That happened to me twice so now I don't take chances.
Hi sorry me again. Is there a difference in the brands? Iv always used phampharma but using apohealth.de I had to get hervert as they didn’t have the phampharma in the hydroxocobalamin only the cyancobalamin.
Hi Wedgewood once again thank you so much for this very valuable information. I managed to get my doctor to up my injections to monthly, so decided to stop si to see how I went. The first few months were great then I started to notice an increase in my symptoms, slowly at first but these past few months the injection administered by the nurse was taking 3 to 4 days to take effect and only lasting 3 to 4 days so I went back to si again last week. I only had one box left of my previous order from verdandapo but when I tried to order more I wasn’t allowed to access the site. So I panicked but thankfully I knew where to go to get help and after a little while searching the posts I found yours and now iv managed to order more b12 through apohealth.de. Thank you so so much.
Hevert is the usual dose but in 2 ml of saline . I prefer 1ml ampoujes and use Pascoe ( which is 1ml and 50 % stringer . 2 ml is a rather large amount of liquid for sun-cut but shoujd be fine for I.M. But I woukd get a finer needle The higher thd G number , the finer the needle . One inch is fine for a slim to medium build patient . You need to inject regularly enough to keep symptoms at bay . I need a once a week injection. We are all different. Anything from daily to once in three months -Yes honestly! It’s great that B12 cannot be overdosed!
My personal opinion is yes, it's B12 deficiency. Every two months is just not enough. If tablets or sprays don't work you meed injections. Frequency depends on results. Start often and taper off slowly.
With neuro involvement the regime according to BNF best practice/NICE guidelines is EOD injections until no further improvement. So not just the customary 6 loading doses and then the 3 monthly regime that the NHS adheres to. 'Tailored to an individual's need' would be the best case scenario - and that is why the majority of us have to SI and find what works for us.
