Discontinuing amitriptyline and scared
Hi guys, My doc wants me to come off
amitriptyline
and go onto sertraline. They want me to drop the dose by 25mg every week. I cant do that as symptoms return im 2-3 days. I read somewhere that you should reduce by 10% of your dose every 2 weeks.

Nerve pain following Shingles
I've been using ice packs, cocodomol,
amitriptyline
, but they aren't making any difference. My GP gave me capsaicin cream two weeks ago, but that's not helping much either, I'm shattered from lack of a decent night's sleep. Does anyone have any advice?

My GP has prescribed
Amitriptyline
for the pain but this only works for a few hours. I am having a burning sensation in my feet that goes up to my knees. I sometimes get an electric shock feel under my feet and a vibrating sensation.

Amitriptyline drops numb mouth?
I was just prescribed
Amitriptyline
in an oral liquid form. I was told to take three drops and I did so by placing them in a spoon and taking them that way. The taste was awful and instantly my mouth and throat went numb and dry. Is this normal?

Leg pain
I am on 30mg of
amitriptyline
a day which helps on a normal day however when I walk the dog, go clubbing or do any weight bearing exercise it is worsened to the point I struggle to walk normally. I have started acupuncture which I recommend to anyone after meningitis.

Shingles as well as Crps and rheumatoid arthritis
I am already on prednisone, methotrexate and plaquenil for ra, lyrica and
amitriptyline
for Crps and now antibiotics for shingles. Also endone temporarily for the shingles pain. Appreciate anything at all. Makes it easier when u know others going thru similar things. Hope you have a restful night.

I was told by my consultant taking
amitriptyline
for nerve pain was absolutely fine, (been on it for about 9 months), but read on another site that their liver was affected by
amitriptyline
. Does anyone have any experience with this drug x

Hello everyone.
He took me off that and put me on
amitriptyline
and I just had the dose raised to 75mgs and I now experience some off the wall things along with confusion. The other night I awoke in the bathroom and when I got to my bed I didn't recognize my wife. So I slept on the floor beside the bed.

Put on weight whilst taking Amitriptyline?
Have other people found they have put on weight whilst taking
Amitriptyline
? My doctor increased my dosage to 25mg due to my pain level, but it doesn't seem to help. I had wanted to change to Gabapentin but he was not keen for me to do so. Thanks. Daphne

Feeling overwhelmed!!
I had severe nerve pain in my feet and this has stopped with 10 mg
amitriptyline
. I also take antidepressants. I feel so overwhelmed with everything and don’t know where to start to get myself better.
