Amitriptyline

My ibs is through the roof now and so I am going back on amitriptyline. Wish I'd never stopped it. Has anyone else had similar experiences stopping amitriptyline

My RA is controlled with Methotrexate injections. Blood tests back to normal. My Rheumy consultant has suggested this drug for nerve pain as overall my pain is poorly controlled. Has anyone found this particular drug helps? Have they experienced many side effects? I also take Codydramol, Naproxen

My doctor has prescribed Amitripyline to help with my Fibromyalgia, sleep and anxiety. I started taking 1 tablet per night 10mg and it definitely helps with my sleep which is fantastic. I used to be on 20mg amitriptyline about 10 years ago.It helped a bit. Doc has prescribed it again due to ongoing fibromyalgia pain and now migraines. I still think I have something auto immune going on but ANA bloods were negative.

Has anyone found that a low dosage of amitriptyline helps with tinnitus? Also, is chronic facial and neck pain and tmj a potential cause of tinnitus? My dentist feels that a night guard would help alleviate my tinnitus.

I’m on rotigotine patches, Tramadol and pregabalin but yesterday the GP suggested amitriptyline on top of this lot. I always check drugs I’m prescribed so I went online when I got home only to see that there were some reports suggesting amitriptyline is a no no for RLS.

Just recently I have been having problems sleeping due to my relationship imploding, and have been prescribed Amitriptyline to help me sleep when I have days with panic attacks.

I had to try Gabapentin and Amitriptyline (both of which I could not tolerate ) before I could be prescribed with Lyrica. I have had no side effects from Lyrica ( it has a different delivery system from the other two.) Lyrica has certainly helped my chronic trigeminal neuralgia.

If I took the amitriptyline during the day I would be drowsy hence I take at about 7 at night.

I was on 10mg of amitriptyline for 6 weeks for sciatica. As it’s a low dose I didn’t really ween myself off them for long enough I don’t think. Just over a week. Since I stopped taking them a month ago I have had tingling and twitches in my calves and fingers. Has anybody else encountered this.
