Your thoughts on amitriptyline, if you have already been prescribed this medication
I have seen numerous comments and sites suggesting that
amitriptyline
is good for not just depression, but also for pain/nerve pain and or relating to ibs pain. I've only ever taken citalopram 10mg which has not done much for my ibs pain and thinking about switching to
amitriptyline
.

Consultation today
So they tried to give me more medication for pain like
amitriptyline
and then said it might be TNT and offered Carbamazepine. I refused all extra medication & advised I wanted more tests to find out whats really going on. It was a battle but he understood where i was coming from.

Pills and pain
Hi, I am on 200mg (yep 200) of
Amitriptyline
. I'm on quite a lot other pills. Sometimes you can go onto a medication which contra-interact with another meds might be the problem. It can sometime be that it's one or the other... try taking one away and see if it reduces the problem.

Amitriptyline and duloxetine during pregnancy
Hello everyone I suffer from fibromyalgia and depression and I am currently taking 20mg duloxetine and 10mg
amitriptyline
which is helping me to manage my condition. I am thinking of trying for another child, already have two but not sure if I could go through pregnancy without the medication.

New hypothyroidism diagnosis
Persistent fatigue and a host of other symptoms saw me also diagnosed with fibromyalgia around 2 years ago and I was given
Amitriptyline
. I have monthly blood tests because of the medication, in December I was inadvertently also tested for my thyroid.

Do I Have IBS?
I have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, and I've been reading about
amitriptyline
as a medicine that will treat both. I'm looking for something that will treat IBS and MDD, as the meds I take for MDD just keep me barely going. There's got to be an antidepressant that works for me.

No levo: feeling much better. What is going on?
I tried taking about 75mcg of thyrogold and again could not sleep until 4am when I took
amitriptyline
which got me to sleep. It wrecks me for the next day though as I sleep in and lose half the day. What is happening: in that I definitely feel better not taking levothyroxine.

One year after VATS
Gabapenten and
amitriptyline
not helping. No one knows why I have this pain. My cardiothoracic surgeon(20 years in this specialty) says he has never heard of such a thing. Can anyone in this group offer help? Thanks in advance. Best Wishes to you all for improved health 2020:) L.

Antidepressants?
My rheumatologist prescribed Sertraline and previously
Amitriptyline
but I've had a very bad reaction to both so don't currently take any. My question is that does anyone else not use antidepressants but find pain manageable? Or do antidepressants really help with alleviating some pain?

Migraine for 3 weeks and counting
I am on 30mg of
amitriptyline
a day and 3 x cyclizine to try and keep the nausea at bay. I’ve become scared of eating as I feel so sick which isn’t helping. Had a CT head to rule out stroke/TIA and it was clear. I’m really at my wits end on what to do.
