Home dialysis question
Has anyone had experience with both home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis? If so, what were the pros and cons for each.

Anyone’s lining too thick to start Polygyna tablets?
Hello all! I’ve been preparing for my first DE FET and taking the Synarel spray for 13 days now. Started my period at the weekend and been for my scan today. I was excited to start the tablets but apparently my lining is too thick (7mm and they want 5mm or less). I’ve got to go again on Friday with the

Running Really Is For Life
Hi everyone, it’s been a very long time since I’ve posted anything but I just wanted to say that running really is for life. 8 years ago this week, at the ripe old age of 55, I made one of my life’s better decisions. Having never run before, I bought a pair of cheap running shoes and started my c25k

After 2 weeks of contemplating I finished week 7 last night!
Just wanted to share that I have had some bumps in the road, a small knee injury and lack of motivation with spaced out runs (not 3 a week) but I have managed to do week 7! Feeling much better and positive again now to continue to progress - I know it is possible and everyone else out there should also

Desperate need for advice, I am having to pull out of university because of persistent GI problems!
Hi there, I would be very grateful for any advice, For around 6 months I have been having ongoing GI problems. In this time I have had three quite severe flare-ups, two of which involved A&E visits however nothing was found (I am too used to this). My main symptoms are severe abdominal pain and nausea

Medications for Migraine
Thanks to all who responded to my question yesterday about post-ablation migraines with aura. I forgot to ask: Did/does anyone take one of the available migraine medications such as Sumatriptan (also known as Imitrex), Rizatriptan (Maxalt), etc. at the onset or during your migraines? I have had a few

AV Node Ablation Update
Hello and Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone Thought I’d update you on my current situation. I had a Pacemaker fitted on June 30th as the first stage of Pace and Ablate after my third ablation failed in Sept 2020 and drugs didn’t help. The AV node ablation was meant to be 4-6 weeks after the PaceMaker

[Fentanyl effects on glutamate and GABA release rates from anterior hypothalamus] and [Fentanyl inhibits GABAergic neurotransmission]
A week ago I had surgery under general anesthesia. I was given propofol and fentanyl. My neuromuscular function has worsened. I've had propofol before without problems. What happened this time? I suspect fentanyl inhibition of GABA progressed my ALS. The NMDA receptor and the gamma-aminobutyric acid

What is AMX0035, and Why Is It Important for All of Us?
AMX0035 is a drug combination of sodium phenylbutyrate (PB) and tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA). It works by regulating the mitochondrial (cell power supply) and endoplasmic reticulum (quality control centers). Put simply, both processes should work in unison, but when they don’t, cells in the body

Besremi -Six Week Update
I had another CMP and CBC yesterday. Background: I got my first Besremi shot on January 28. I asked to start at 50 mcg. Second shot was 60 mcg and third was 70mcg. After six weeks, I'm thrilled to see changes in my counts: My WBC went from 15 to 10.8 (while it can fluctuate, it doesn't have a drop

Niacin, NR, NMN, NAD+,NADH: what is the effect on mitochondria and is it beneficial to PD?
I’m working on understanding the process by which niacin ultimately increases NAD and if supplementing with NMN, a more immediate precursor is more advantageous or perhaps NADH is better?

Phlebotomies keeping HCT at great level!
Hi My Friends! I have been having phlebotomies every few weeks. It varies depending on my HCT level. I am taking a very low dose of HU; 500mg 4 time a week. I had been up to 1500 mg daily and I just could not tolerate it. HU alone was not getting my HCT below 45 and seems to have very little influence
