CONSTIPATION: Does anyone use MILK OF MAGNESIA... - IBS Network
CONSTIPATION
I might be completely wrong Maggue66 but i remember this remedy from my childhood, mainly because of it's unpleasant taste as a youngster! It was the medicine cabinet go-to remedy for helping firm up stools when we had diarrhoea as far as i can remember and so i'd check with others as i would have thought it has the opposite effect that you want if constipated? It was later succeeded in our cabinet / on holidays by Diacalm tablets with equally interesting texture and taste! I hope someone can give you a definitive answer to your question.
Hi as a child I’m 66and had a bowel op at 2 years old . Only thing the doctor told my mum to use is milk of magnesia for constipation . It always worked for me . I still use it every now and then . But doctor gave me laxido to use I find that helps . It’s a orange drink . But milk of magnesia can help . But don’t no about taking it long term .
MM is the only thing I ever take
Yes milk of magnesia is for constipation, depending on dosage. I always have some in the cupboard and use it when needed. Not sure its for daily use though, not sure if magnesium is recommended every day.
I've tried it and like it. It works more like a softener for me, and it doesn't happen real fast like MOM sometimes does.
