TSH 6.2 ( 0.3-5)

This is high above range. Are you on Levo yet?

If not GP should prescribe Levothyroxine at 50mcg (starter dose)

FT4 9.8 (7.9-16)

On low side

FT3 - not tested - very likely low

Vitamin D 54nmol. Too low

You will need to supplement, GP can only prescribe 800iu (much too little)

Calcium low because vitamin D is low. Will improve automatically as vitamin D level rises

Folate 6.1 - on low side

B12 - 282 (120-900) GP probably won't consider this, but Thyroid patients find this too low

Ferritin 18. (15-300)

This is dire. GP should prescribe to improve

See SeasideSusie vitamin advice eg

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Others tests required

Thyroid antibodies test and FT3

GP very unlikely unable to get lab to do FT3

GP should test TPO (and TG) antibodies

If not get done privately

If you can't get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results

B12 level 282 ng/L [120 - 900]

folate level 6.1 ng/ml [2.5 - 9,999]

You might want to check for signs of B12 deficiency b12deficiency.info/signs-an... and if you have any then post on the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum for further advice healthunlocked.com/pasoc

An extract from the book, "Could it be B12?" by Sally M. Pacholok:

"We believe that the 'normal' serum B12 threshold needs to be raised from 200 pg/ml to at least 450 pg/ml because deficiencies begin to appear in the cerebrospinal fluid below 550".

"For brain and nervous system health and prevention of disease in older adults, serum B12 levels should be maintained near or above 1000 pg/ml."

Folate is low, although that is a very strange 'range'. Normally it would be said to be best at half way through range, but that's impossible with that range. However, it's not much above the bottom limit so if it was me I'd be taking a good B Complex containing methylfolate to boost folate level.

**

vitamin D level 54 nmol/L [50 - 150]

Lower than your previous level of 93, when it was suggested to supplement during the winter. It doesn't look like you are.

**

ferritin level 18 ng/ml [15 - 300]

For thyroid hormone to work (that's our own as well as replacement hormone) ferritin needs to be at least 70, preferably half way through range. You can help raise your level by eating liver regularly, maximum 200g per week due to it's high Vit A content, and including lots of iron rich foods in your diet apjcn.nhri.org.tw/server/in...

Ferritin can't be taken in isolation, there are other tests within an iron panel which should be done - serum iron, transferrin saturation %, TIBC, etc. You need to discuss this with your GP.

**

TSH level 6.26 miu/L [0.3 - 5]

free T4 level 9.8 pmol/L [7.9 - 16]

You are undermedicated, your TSH is higher and FT4 lower than in your previous thread healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... You were asked what dose of Levo you were on but didn't answer. It's obviously not enough. The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or below or wherever it needs to be for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges when on Levo.

**

The tests I haven't commented on are because I don't know or they are in range. Any that you wish to check you can do here by putting the name of the test in the search box labtestsonline.org.uk/under...

**

From your previous threads we know you have Hashi's and SlowDragon gave you lots of advice here healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... Have you followed the advice?

For thyroid hormone to work, all vitamins and minerals need to be optimal. As you have Hashi's you're likely to have gut/absorption problems so this needs to be addressed as per SlowDragon's advice.

Once your vitamins and minerals are optimal, and you're on a high enough dose of Levo to bring your TSH down to 1 or below, then we can see how well you convert T4 to T3 or whether that is a problem.
