Has anyone else had a problem with
Dextrose
. It says it is 'Gluten Free' but I have eaten a product with this ingredient and I have swelled up like a balloon all around my tummy, abdomen and hips and it hurts.

DEXTROMETHOROHAN and RLS
It has to be paired with Buproprion specifically to keep the

from metabolizing so quickly. Many Dr’s will give the lowest dose Buproprion 150mg and have the patient buyDextromethirphan over the counter which is very inexpensive. Avuelity is 1200/ month! Anybody out there tried this?

Steroids and blood-sugar...
This helped explain a lot and I began to deal with it in the same way that my wife and kids do, by eating a few
dextrose
tablets or half a banana.

Gummies - BE CAREFUL
There is a huge range of substances now available in the form of gummies. And gummies are made to taste nice. And this disguises that they contain active ingredients with serious effects. They themselves seem entirely innocuous. Possibly there is more concern over any sugars and sweeteners than what

Is that discoloration around the neck insulin resistance?
I’m 27 I’ve had it for as long as I can remember, but I don’t remember if I still did when I was thin. I’m currently obese and chances are higher. I also have hyperpigmentation under the armpits and the inner thighs. Glucose show okay but I know pre diabetes doesn’t usually show on tests. I’m concerned

Keto vs Western Diet
I am a big advocate of a Keto diet. It's 11 month since my bypass operation for blocked arteries.I have lost a total of 6 stones, I am off all BP meds including beta blockers and should be the rest on my 12 month anniversary after I see my surgeon. My lipids are in the optimal range and the following

Anyone have an opinion on this issue as I prepare to see a MO?
Could the PET/CT SCAN have read the high glucose in my system as met pelvic lymph nodes and met bone? Just asking since I was looking over my medical records for the last 10 years and the calcium number has always been in the mid-range, but the glucose has always been very high. (I am a type 2 diabetic

Methionine restricted diet for recurring PSA and positive PMSA pet scan w/ 1 bone met
quick to the point. PSMA pet showed 1 L2 small met and some lymph activity. My PSA went from 2.01 to 2.9 in one month. after doing some research on diets and supplements . I found that the keto diet is extremely high in the amino acid methionine and I made it worse trying to reduce my blood pressure

Update 8.2
Good news on the labs today. Since the phlebotomy on March 26 my HCT is staying below target. It actually dropped some more this time to 41.4%. LYMPH and NEUT are at acceptable levels though LYMPH is still low. PLTs are staying in the 200s. On the whole, things are looking good. I have been feeling

Does Besremi cause high blood sugar?
I started Besremi two weeks ago. My first dose was 100 mcg. I am supposed to take my second dose today, and increase it to 150mcg. The thing is, I had a BMB this week, since my MPN specialist wanted to have a baseline, and prior to the biopsy had some blood tests at the hospital. I got some of the results

Will Androgen-nourished Prostate Cancer Cells Succumb to "Glucose/Glutamine Starvation"?
If prostate cancer cells are enriched with androgens that normally propel their growth and spread, could they still be "starved" by selectively inhibiting their GLUT receptor expressions to block their uptake of glucose and also by limiting their ability to turn to and utilize glutamine as a backup

Metabolic symptoms at 3am
With increasing frequency, I wake up at about 3am feeling unusually hot, like a hot flash. Lasts about 30 minutes. As it tends to follow a larger than normal evening meal, with some alcohol, I don't think it is hormone related. If this is some kind of transient metabolic phenomenon - is it more likely

Just saw Endocrinologist; Cutting Back on Insulin
I’m pretty thrilled! Pre-transplant I had controlled my type II diabetes for a little over 15 years without meds. The anti-rejection meds have changed all of that. I’ve been taking 12 units long lasting insulin at bedtime and 1 unit of short acting for every 10 carbs with meals. But I’ve been experiencing

Celebrex and Curcumin and Magnesium.
I recently received a question from a fellow warrior based on a comment I had made on an older post that he had started. The question was what I thought about Naproxen compered to Celebrex and I told him I had very limited experience with Naproxen. I then clicked on older posts about nsaids and prostate
