Husband with cirrhosis has low haemoglobin

Since then he hasn't touched alcohol and looks much better but the consultant said today that he's a bit concerned about his low haemoglobin levels. Is this likely to be just anaemia or something more sinister? Thanks.

Anemia on pegasys ET

. , but my Haemoglobin is now 83 (that's 8.3 in US I think). So I feel very tired. Has anyone any advice for transitioning back to hydroxy 😕 or switching to half and half? Many thanks Jo

What's the relevance of low mean cell haemoglobin, but normal haemoglobin concentrate levels?

What does mean cell haemoglobin mean? I I thought it meant I was anaemic, but my haemoglobin concentrate is normal. My ferritin is too low again I know. I understand my thyroid levels. I'd reduced T3 from 30 to 25mcg for 6 weeks hoping my TSH would rise a bit to placate the gp, but it didn't!

Blood results back. Ferritin low but haemoglobin normal. TSH slightly raised.

Serum Ferritin 27 (15 - 150) Haemoglobin 133 (115 - 165) Haematocrit 0.387 (0.37 - 0.48) is this too low? Vitamin D 74.9 (50 - 175) I was taking 1000mg of vit d for a while but stopped (cos I kept forgetting!) about a couple of weeks before the blood test.

ALT

I had some routine blood tests done and they are all normal apart from slightly low haemoglobin and ALT was 61. GP receptionist rang to say I needed tests repeating without explaining anything. Is this a cause for concern.

Blood result question

Sept 21 I had haemoglobin of 167g/1 & 48.5% haematocrit. Jan 2022 haemaogloblin of 164g/1 & 45.9% haematrocrit Are these numbers high? Is it good there is a little reduction?

Not able to tolerate olaparib, anyone?

Dear Lovelies, I have now developed severe low haemoglobin twice in the 4 months I have been on olaparib- four blood transfusions in total and am off olaparib for the second time. I am BRCa 2 , so really had great hopes as Brca2’s tend to respond well on this drug, cancerwise. .

Olaparib induced anaemia and walking probs, anyone?

Mg per day if my Haemoglobin stays at about 82 by next FridAy. It also seems to have affected my gait so that I do not have accurate control over where my feet land when I walk with the result that I am clutching walls and furniture to balance. It is easier to walk on pavement rather than carpet.

Erythropoietin

Now my red cell count has never been high or low (4.54) Its been normal always and my hematocrit is normal about 41 ( has been at highest 45 in 15 odd years) and my haemoglobin is normal around 136. What are they thinking.

Haemolytic anaemia

My situation is I've had ET for 6 years, hydroxy , then pegasys for the last 18 months, finally my platelets are nearly down to normal, but haemoglobin has been steadily falling, now at 96.
