Haemoglobin

I have all the symptoms of anaemia and although my red blood cells have dropped whilst taking hydroxycarbomide my haematologist saysthey don’t go by them only by haemoglobin and if I don’t feel well to see my gp. RBC currently 3.6 ( range 3.8-5.8) haemoglobin 132 )range 115-160).

Since he started taking Apixaban Eliquis 5mg daily in 2018 he has been loosing blood and his haemoglobin is always low. I'm worried now as his Haemoglobin is at 95 now and its causing other issues.

His haemoglobin has also come down. I am so worried now. What can be done for his weight to improve?

Her haemoglobin has remained low and is slightly anaemic, which again is common. Following chemo, can you take iron supplements? Anything she can have to boost her levels. Anyone else been through this? Any advice? My mum is just so low at the moment.

Just been told by GP my haematology levels are 130 g/l [135-175]and haematocrit levels are 0.39 [0.41 - 0.53]and platelet count is 410 [150-400] . Good news was tsh was 0.8. Doctor said levels are nothing to worry about but been googling and think points to anemia. Any recommendations of supplements

His haemoglobin levels are down to 68 (or is it 6.8 in the US?) but it’s just been discovered, having had his iron checked for the first time, that his ferritin is 3000!

Sorry, haemoglobin was 86 not 68!

I was wondering what is the optimal haemoglobin level? Mine is 137g/L with a range of around 120-270 (from monitor my health green area estimated values). Thanks very much

Just had full bloods done at GP becasue of all of this, platelets still low but now I also have HIGH Haemoglobin! We chatted for ages about the asprin thing and she was very thorough but both of us completely overlooked the haemoglobin.

My last haemoglobin was very slightly below normal. I'm taking folic acid 5mg every day, apart from Methotrexate day.

Plus my haemoglobin has come up to 109, first time it’s been over 100 for years! So the Momelotinib and Hydroxy are working, I haven’t got any other numbers, unless it’s a face to face appointment it’s impossible to get a full result. It’s like it’s all a secret with the hospital.

Her haemoglobin is very low. She has had one blood transfusion (2 units) four weeks ago and halved her Niraparib from 200 to 100. Her bloods are still showing low haemoglobin and she is having to have another blood transfusion.
