Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test

I got my results from my GP surgery today they only tested TSH which came back at 4.14, I was told by the receptionist that its normal, no futher action required.Last GP blood test TSH was 8.5 Should I ask to speak to the doctor and ask for a increase in my levo?

Not only that but I dont see ft4 was taken either, so im thinking she is just looking at tsh. Any opinions, advise greatly appreciated. I was taking levo 75mcg with 5mcg thybon t3 in morning, a further 5mcg afternoon and 5mcg at evening, 12hours between blood draw and I fasted.

For more than 3 years my tsh levels have been hovering around or below the bottom of the range. My doctors have used this for refusing to increase my dose of levo.

Doctor tested TSH only and it came back normal. He has low folate and has all the symptoms for hypothyroidism. He is in so much pain with his stomach though and is very constipated, could this still be part of hypothyroidism?

I had new labs done, in January my TSH was 1.3, now they are 53.9 wtf? I also recently found out that I have Hashimoto's. I'm pretty nervous about this I've only been taking 25 mg levothyrexine for about 3 years and now they upped it to 50 yesterday.

Im going to increase my levo from 75mcg to 100mcg every other day hoping my ft4 will improve. However I need to provide a nhs blood test for my gp first,.Blood test app. On 15.05.23,so not long to wait. My query is, does low ft4 cause fluctuating heart rate/palpitations? hello everyone Just had some tests back and my TSH was 3.5 my free t3 and free t4 were at the top of the range, Which of the 3 would you say was the most important?

Looking back over my TSH results they seem to have fluctuated over the years falling to 0.1 at their lowest but then rising to within ‘Normal’ levels quite quickly Could there be other things afoot than just TSH?

my TSH came back as 0.07 which is under what it should be but no one has been in touch. I think they should be reducing my dosage from 125 to 100, is that right?

But with central hypothyroidism it is the TSH level that is the primary problem, and therefore the TSH is ignored in titrating the dose, and FT4 is used, targeting the top quarter of the range.

My blood results show Serum TSH level 0.01 miu/L [0.34 - 5.6] FREE T3 6.4 pmol/L [3.8 - 6.8] Serum free T4 level 18.6 pmol/L [7.5 - 21.1] Has anyone had these experiences or suggest what to expect? My GP has booked further blood tests in 4 weeks.

I still am not sure how the TSH blood test works. If I go to lab A and get a TSH result of 0.37 and their reference interval is 0.4 - 4, that would be seen as below range. If I go to lab B and their reference interval is 0.35 -5 would that also influence my TSH result or would it stay at 0.37?

I have been on thyroxine for many years and have been on 50 mcg`s alternating with 75mcg`s, for most of the time TSH was 2.32 (Doctor said this is OK) but I'm not feeling OK. My cholesterol is borderline high so I have improved my already good diet to add more Oats & grains etc etc.

TSH.. 6.25..RANGE..( 0.30..4.50) this was on (20mg) of T3 (Roma brand) T4.. 2.90..on T3 only T3... 3.7..RANGE.. (3.10..6.80) May 2nd...TSH...4.42...RANGE.. (0.30..4.50) this was on (10mg) of T3 (Roma brand) T4.. 2.70..on T3 T3.. 3..RANGE.. (3.10..6.80) Why would my TSH be in range on a lower dose

I had NHS blood tests done and my TSH level is 0.03 (0.27-4.20), T3 5 (3.20-6.80). They didn't do T4 but when I had a medichecks test in Jan T4 was 13.5 (12-22) and the TSH and T3 were the same as the NHS one. The EGFR (renal) was low so am having another blood test for that.

I just wanted to reach out to ask as anybody else had their IVF put on pause untill their TSH level has gone down? We were ready to start our first IVF round only to find that my TSH level to be to high. It's given me huge anxiety as now it's like a cloud over my head untill I get retested.

Anybody have a similar experience with low mood or depression with in range tsh levels?

I’ve called the surgery and surprise surprise my results are normal and “ no further action”, and when I asked what the TSH was advised it is 0.67. My vitamin D was also tested and was normal at 77.

Please can I ask if anyone knows where you can get TSH blocking antibodies tested privately? I have always assumed that I had Hashimotos, but have an atrophic thyroid and negative thyroglobulin and TPO antibodies so am curious. This forum is an amazing resource of information and support.
