Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) test

My latest thyroid tests show low TSH at 0.1 and T4 at 15.8.For my heart issues I take blood thinners, statins, beta blockers (currently at 2.5 twice a day, to rise in increments to 10 twice a day.) I take a low dose of PPI for stomach acid daily. I am very confused about my thyroid condition.

This year my TSH and T4 has stayed suppressed, my FT3 at highest in July was 36. Range 4.1-6.8 Started 10mg Carbimazole, T3 dropped to 8, no change in TSH or T4. Endo increased carbimazole to 15mg and FT3 increased to 10, no change in T4 or TSH. I feel dreadful, worse than before Carbimazole.

Hi in June my TSH was 3.1 and it’s now 0..7. Is it normal for thyroid levels to change this much in 5 months? My brother has underactive thyroid. The Dr tested thyroid again as I’m always either sweating loads or cold Thank you

My question is does low tsh cause anxiety and palpitations? My recent (October)tsh was 0.008 when I was on 15mcg t3 and 125mcg levo, prior to covid I felt great. I'm due a blood test in April, will post results then

Based on the above blood test results, the nurse at my health centre has called me in for an appointment tomorrow to talk about the dangers of my suppressed TSH. Has anyone got any advice on how to respond simply, to avoid them reducing my levothyroxine please?

Hi I have had results from my tsh blood test .I now have a reading of 0.45 (0.27-4.5) . My previous results have shown I’m going down the scale towards hyper . I have been hypo for 10 years after a diagnosis of greaves . I’m struggling and have a dr appointment what do you think ?

He started by saying after our last conversation he’s looked into it and basically he has found no research EVER in having a suppressed TSH Level brings anything healthy in the coming years ahead for me , it will only ever bring bad outcome .

All my blood tests in the last 20 years have shown negligible TSH. Latest blood test results: TSH = <0.01 mui/L Range: 0.35 - 4.94miu/L T4 = 14 pmol/L Range 9.00 - 19.10pmol/L T3 = 4.9 pmol/L Range: 2.40 - 6.00pmol/L Help please.

I've just had blood results following a small rise in my Levothyroxine dosage prior my reading was 4 ( 0.6- 6) range now its 4.7 same range. I wasn't expecting a massive drop but was surprised that it has risen, is this usual while adapting to dose changes. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated

I have many run ins with my gp after thyroid blood tests which obviously are only done annually and my tsh is very low. I do medichecks myself and my tsh is very low my T4 slightly over range and my T3 low at bottom of the range.

Got this in the NHS app. Test taken 1050 yesterday after fasting and no medication or supplements. I’m 62, female, 5’1 and 8 stone 8 and been in HRT for 10 years at least. I have a long term rheumatoid condition if autoimmune type . Is this ok?

TSH 0.05 (0.27-4.20) -5.6% FT4 18.6 (12-22) 66% FT3 4.5 (3.1-6.8) 37.84% I’m due to get NHS bloods done in December and I know they’ll want to reduce my dose with TSH so low. They don’t test FT4 & FT3.

I got the result today and am dismayed to find tsh was 3.27 - this has varied in less than two months from 5.37. I really don't know what to do now as it seems my tsh is now "normal". Can anyone explain why my tsh is fluctuating so much.

I'm just wondering why my TSH has gone so high and if any of you have any advice on whether it may be a good idea to see a thyroid specialist. Thanks

daughter has just had bloods back. they just keep giving her more tablets. Diagnosed last year . She’s 20. They don’t refer to a specialist. What should we be saying to gp ?

That TSH through GP was monitored. Quite surprised that they think I’m stable after one blood test. Been on 50mcg since April of Levothyroxine.

My blood test for thyroid shows TSH at 4.75 mU/L and t4 is 14pmol/L. My GP didn’t test t3 or antibodies. He said he will order a retest in 3-6 months. Another GP ordered a 24 hour ecg that showed tachycardia and some sinus tachycardia, in an otherwise healthy heart.

My last test my tsh was 0.08, but t4 was only 12.4 in a range of 10-18. I would expect my t4 to be higher! T3 wasn't even tested. My b12, vit D and folate are mid range.My Dr wants to reduce my thyroxine from 150/125 alternate days to 125.

I was wondering if any of you nice people would be able to link for me any papers/information that indicates that the Optimal level for the TSH is between 1 and 2. Mine is away over 3 and I want to arm myself with actual papers to take or send to the GP to see if they can do anything for me.

I went back to using teva 75 mg as I assumed new brand (AlMUS) 100mg was causing this sickness.. date of blood results 26/09/24 TSH level - 8.17 mU/L . . Surum T4 level - 16.1 pmol/L
