I am now getting just an occasional T4 test when I need a revised prescription. I gave up going to the doctors as they were totally clueless and now just adjust my dose when I am having problems.

TSH only tested although asked for T4 test which was denied. TSH 2.7 mlU/L (0.3-4.5)My question is, I've been feeling increasingly worse, shivering, cold most of the time, lethargic and generally out of sorts.

My recent blood test showed my tsh was within normal range but Consultant didn't request t3 or t4. I have been advised to continue on 15 my carbimazole. Should I have had t3 and t4 tested? I always have in the past but not this time, for some reason.. not feeling particularly brilliant either.. 😒

Hi guys 👋 I’ll soon need to take my first blood test after starting a combination of T4 and T3. I’m a bit confused about the best time to schedule the test. I know that T4 should be tested 24 hours after taking it, while T3 apparently should be tested 10–12 hours after the last dose.

I have got a blood test at 9.15 in private clinic setting. I took t4 at 6.15 yesterday morning. Do I take the t4 now before blood test as may be false low? Previously high t4 after taking thyroxine (NHS) and also after MMH finger prick test (without taking t4).

I was livid because no T4/T3 test had been done so I don't know what they were but on past experience, I'd guess they were on the low side of 'in range'. I requested a T4/T3 test but was refused. GP said there is no need to test it. I tested privately a week later.

Just received my results from Dr they only test Tsh @T4 I am on 100 levothyroxine T4 is 13.7

The practice cannot just request a T4 test without suspecting a pituitary problem.   If you are in agreement regarding being seen face-to-face please contact reception and you will be given an appointment to see a GP.

Hi - those of use lucky enough to be prescribed T3 on the NHS: Does your endocrinologist test T3 and T4 or just TSH? I know too many just rely on TSH but to the extent that they don’t even test T3 or T4 when you’re on Liothyronine? I had a monitoring test that seems to only have been TSH.

Wanted to seek advice from you kind folks on adjusting t3/t4 medication please This was my test results on 20mg T3 and 32.5 T4. Wanted advice on ideas to tweak my medication. Much appreciated your time

My TSH level = 0.2 My T4 = 12.9. Test results from yesterday (21.8.2024). Test results from 5 months ago My TSH level = 5.6 My TSH level = 9.2 Notes: I have never had a TSH level below 2.5. I'm sure I had a bad batch of Thyroid-S regarding my last results.

The TSH and T4 test were more or less in sync up to about a year ago. I am now getting high TSH (12.9miu/L) and my T4 is near the top of the limit at 19.4pmol/L. I was taking 150mg of thyroxine for many years but started to get heart palpitations.

Medichecks TSH 0.018 (0.27 – 4.2) T4 16.6 (12-22) T3 5.4 (3.1-6.8) NHS TSH <0.05 (0.2-4.3) T4 13.4 (7.8-18.0) Though I am a maths dunce, I believe the Medichecks test shows T4 at 46% through range, T3 at 62% and the NHS test shows T4 at 54%.

Doctor did a TSH and T4 test and then phoned me to reduce my T4 to 50mcg. My TSH was 0.023 and my T4 was 8.2. The reduction of T4 meds made me very ill, I crashed 4 days later and I was virtually bedbound for 10 days before I worked out was going on.

hi there Does anyone have any advice as to how many hours beforehand we should take T4 and T3 medication before a Reverse T3 test? Anything else to avoid beforehand or if I need to fast? Many thanks in advance 😃

Free T4 19.5 10.8 - 25.5 (59.2%) Free T3 6.1 3.1 - 6.8 (81.1%) TSH 0.002 (0.27-4.2) So, the consultant who managing my pregnancy did an unexpected tsh and T4 test at 2pm (so about 12 hours after my dose of levo and lio). It showed that I was over range and suppressed tsh.
