How is everyone managing their pain?
At my last visit to my neurologist I expressed my concern to him that I'm taking 800mg of ibuprofen every single day at least once a day and he said he thought I'd be fine. Well, after an endoscopy and colonoscopy I'm being treated for an ulcer so obviously it wasn't "fine". The gastroenterologist prescribed

Help, how do I find an experienced consultant?
Following a total knee replacement in 2011 I have had acute chronic pain ever since. I have had the 'full' NHS treatments and am on fentanyl patches, diazepam & tramadol etc. but the medication is getting less and less effective. I have had a failed dorsal root ganglion stimulator trial and have concluded

Unsure
Hi everyone, I had a partial hysterectomy in 2011. Since then I have been having an awful time with pain under my right rib. I have been told it's musculoskeletal, costacondrotus etc etc. I don't know where to turn to next. I am convinced that it's endo following the hysterectomy as the surgeon then

Problems post-op
Hi everyone I am a bit concerned about what I am experiencing after my surgery? I underwent a laparoscopy 4 days ago. Was in theatre almost 2 hours and experienced very high pain levels post-op. I remained in Hospital overnight and was sent home the following day. The pain was still a huge issue

Anyone struggling with this hot weather?
After such a hard winter for us all, like everyone else, I've been so glad of the sunshine these past few weeks. However, since its gone really hot and humid, I feel like I've been thrown right back into a 'winter' flare up! We haven't had any of the thunderstorms that the rest of the UK have had but

Pain clinic at last
It's taken three years to get to this point and I'm glad that my GP tried so many other options before it came to this. He has referred me to a pain clinic. No idea how long it will take. My fear is that the pain is worse after three years and it's hard to show people what that feels like. My 60mg of

Worse Days in Last 18 months
In 9/16, after much, new and different upper body musculoskeletal pain while already taking tramadol, saw rheumatologist for first time. The only inflammatory blood marker I have had is PR3 positive. C- ANCA. For first 6 mo. did really well on Prednisone and felt normal. Have since been tapered to 8mg

OPIATE PAIN MEDICATIONS IN ADDITION TO THE USUAL GPA MEDS ???
As many of you know , federal and state governments in the US have severely clamped down on the prescribing of any drug in the opiate family at the same time the alcohol industry flourishes, and the medical and recreational marijuana industry is on the rise and set to financially explode in the next

Hi everyone. Just to say I have managed to get off the tramadol. Felt terrible at first, but not so bad at the end. So glad to be off them, perhaps I will get my memory back! Thanks to everyone who replied to my original post. Best wishes to everyone.
